Twenty-Two (H.S)

Chapter 40

It was well into the day when I finally dragged myself out of bed, H had unwillingly left me earlier after I pretty much had to persuade him to leave and that I was perfectly fine, for which I am most definitely not.

 I had woken up with a throbbing headache and my nose was so blocked I could hardly breathe but I didn't want H to have to be stuck with me and catch it. He had gone off with Jax to do the rounds but he promised to check on me throughout the day and he already had twice.

So I guess on this miserable day it was just me, myself and I. I mostly just read my book but I was almost finished that so I was going to need to get a new one soon, luckily I had bought most of my books from home with us here and Maeve had some she said I could borrow too.

Just after 1pm there was a knock at the door, I couldn't be bothered getting out of be3d to see who it was and I figured it was only one of the guys after all so I just yelled out for them to come in. But it wasn't one of the guys, it was Avery.

"Hey Av"

"Hey, H said you were sick so I wanted to come check in on you"  She said coming to sit down beside me on the bed.

"Don't get too close" I said waving my hands in front of me "You don't wanna catch whatever I have"

"Oh who cares" She shrugged "How are you feeling though? Just a cold?"

"Yeah I don't feel great, my head hurts and my nose won't stop running, so thats not great but other than that I'm okay, I think It's probably all this rain and cold weather, doesn't help I've been out in it and gotten soaked  pretty much every day"

"The rain has definitely sucked lately, I want summer to hurry up"

"Me too" I laughed. We spent the next few hours chatting away, she told me how her and Nate had been getting on and it seems that they're a great fit, he's treating her like a queen, as she should. I also told her about H and I, we hadn't really gone too much further than what I had already told her but she wanted to know all the details anyway.

"Do you think you'll be ready to take the next step anytime soon?" She asked and that was a question I had been thinking about a lot lately and I did have the answer.

"Yes" I smiled and she dropped her mouth open wide "I mean I always thought I was never going to be comfortable enough with anyone to be naked with them, like that was a big step for me and the fact that I really did feel so so comfortable with H, like of course it was a little awkward at first but not once did I ever feel like he judged me or was just gawking at my body, he made me feel completely safe and loved and it was an unreal experience so yeah I really wouldn't want to take the next step with anyone else to be honest"

"Aww my Emmy baby is growing up" Avery teased pulling me in for a hug.

"Don't act like its a big deal" I rolled my eyes, she could be so dramatic sometimes.

"It is a big deal, well for you anyway, sex is good but for me I just wanted to get it out of the way, I'm glad you've waited until you found someone as good as H, even if he does still intimidate me sometimes I know he really does love you"

"Thanks Av" I really did need this chat with her today.

"Did you need anything? I can get H to bring you back some stuff" Avery asked. I thought for a few moments before answering.

"Oh maybe another book, Maeve said she has some I could borrow, can you please ask her for one now, just whatever she recommends and see if you can please get one of those puzzle books Cruze keeps in the infirmary..... oh shit, how's that girl? I completely forgot" I had been too preoccupied with myself having a cold that I hadn't even left the hut today to see how the girl was doing.
