Once Again

Lonely in a crowded world,
Looking for that perfect someone,
Who doesn't really exist,
Or at least someone who shares my pain,
And has the time,
And patience to listen to me complain,
That things aren't the way,
They once were.
Feeling ancient yet infantile,
Nostalgic yet ready to try new things,
In search of a land that's new yet familiar,
I try to ignore the feeling of apprehension,
As I set out on my fool's errand,
To find someone,
I know can make me smile,
And make everything alright again.
Knowing how wrong I could be,
I still look for you,
In the one place I'm certain you'll always return,
Holding out hope,
You'll still want me to come with you,
And that maybe you'll traverse the unknown with,
Me once again.
