" kook, if you are interested in her then talk to her. you can't be mad at me for being her lab partner." eunwoo tried to reason with his best friend.

" i can't, you know i can't." jungkook mumbled, poking his food with the metal chopsticks.

eunwoo playfully rolled his eyes, " then what is it, kook? you're scared of her or something?? there's nothing scary about delilah."

jungkook sighed, a faint blush creeping up on his neck. " she makes me nervous, that's all."

" women don't make you nervous, kook. hell, they can't even make you all flustered like this."

" they're not delilah." he muttered,, cutting the pork into bite-sized pieces with the provided scissors.

eunwoo shook his head in disbelief. needing a refill on his drink, he flagged down a waiter.

however, his drink was returned with someone else and the moment he said the person's name jungkook nearly choked on his food.

eunwoo looked up, surprised. it was delilah in a apron.

" delilah?? what are you doing here??"

" uhm i work here." she chuckled and crossed her arms over her chest.

" since when??" eunwoo frowned and sip his drink.

"and who's asking??" she replied with a playful smile.

"me." eunwoo blurted out.

" no."

" why not??"

" byee eunwoo." she waved and went to assist the next table.

jungkook pouted, watching delilah from afar. "i'm here too," he mumbled.

" already whipped i see." eunwoo wiggled his eyebrows and in return, jungkook kicked him under the table. " yah kook! that hurts." he winced and proceed to kick him back but jungkook was quick enough to dodge it.

when they finished their lunch, eunwoo scanned the restaurant, hoping to catch delilah's eye and say goodbye. but she was nowhere to be seen. with a shrug, he signaled for the check. as they paid and prepared to leave, jungkook lingered behind for a moment.

eunwoo didn't notice jungkook's hesitation. he was already halfway out the door when he realized his best friend wasn't following. "jungkook? you coming?" he called back.

jungkook emerged from behind a booth, a sheepish grin on his face. "yeah, just a sec." he reached into his pocket and quickly scribbled something on a napkin. folding it neatly, he placed it discreetly under a plate on their empty table.

catching up to eunwoo, they exited the restaurant. jungkook couldn't help stealing a glance back at the restaurant, a nervous flutter in his stomach.

back inside, delilah was clearing their table, as she reached for the last empty plate, a folded napkin caught her eye. unfolding it carefully, she read the message:

you're really pretty, delilah.
~ JK

a soft smile curved her lips. "shy bunny boy," she murmured to herself, tucking the note into her pocket.
