delilah woke up to an empty living room, the first aid kit still on the table. she let out a sigh, her eyes welling up with tears as she recalled the events of the previous night. covering her face with her hands, she swept away a stray hair that had fallen across her face.
"how could I betray the man i'm falling in love with? i can't believe he'd...i can't even think about it," she whispered, her voice shaking. she took a few deep breaths, composing herself before starting to get ready for her morning classes.
with two exams looming in just two hours, delilah's mind was racing as she rushed through her morning routine. once she was done, she grabbed her backpack and headed out the door.
as she arrived on campus, she took a deep breath and tried to shake off the lingering sleepiness. she decided to grab some extra study time at the library before her exams, hoping to get a head start on reviewing the material.
but as she approached the elevator, a hand grasped her arm, stopping her in her tracks. it was jungkook.
" can we talk, baby? please?" jungkook asked, basically pleading.
delilah hesitated, then replied curtly, "i have to study now." she ducked into the elevator before jungkook could say another word.
jungkook let out a shaky sigh and ran his hands through his hair, clearly troubled. he then headed out to meet up with eunwoo.
as they walked together, eunwoo bombarded him with questions.
"did you see her? what did she say?" he asked urgently.
"i did see her," jungkook replied, his voice laced with regret. "but she had to go study for her exams today."eunwoo's expression turned disapproving. "you really fucked up, bro. you accused her of cheating, and you believed mingyu over her? aish, what were you thinking?"
jungkook's eyes dropped, his face flushing with shame. "i was upset and drunk, but that's no excuse. i know I was wrong."
eunwoo's tone softened slightly. "just be honest with yourself, okay? you will make this right."the conversation paused as they walked in silence for a moment before eunwoo changed the subject. "did you finalize everything for your studio?"
jungkook shook his head as he replied, "i was about to yesterday, but my fight with my father prevented me from doing so. i had to reschedule."
" i want you to do my tattoos for me." eunwoo said to his best friend who raised his brow at him. " you sure you won't chicken out?"
eunwoo punched him playfully on the arm. "shut up, i won't!" jungkook chuckled, shaking his head as they both laughed.
" will you go see her after the exams??" eunwoo inquired. " yea, i will." jungkook said.
"shit, good luck."

as delilah emerged from the lecture hall, exhausted from a grueling day of exams, jungkook was waiting for her outside, his eyes fixed on the door.
his nervous energy was palpable as he bounced up and down, his face lighting up with a warm smile when she finally appeared.
delilah's eyes, however, were red-rimmed and puffy from crying. the stress of back-to-back exams had taken a toll on her, and she felt like she was at her breaking point.
jungkook's eyes widened in concern as he rushed towards her, his arms opening wide to envelop her in a warm hug.
"hey, sweetheart," he whispered against her hair, his voice gentle and soothing. "what's the matter, hm?"
he pulled her close to his chest, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist. he buried his face in her hair, inhaling the familiar scent of her shampoo and perfume.
delilah clung to her boyfriend's waist, burying her face in his chest. muffled sobs wracked her body as she mumbled, "i don't want to fail my neuroscience exam." her voice trembled.
"hey, hey," jungkook soothed, his arms wrapping protectively around her. "you won't fail anything" he peck her forehead. " you've studied so hard and i know you aced it, hm?" he gently pulled her back to look at him, his gaze soft and warm.
delilah sniffled, her eyes glistening with tears. "and i'm supposed to be mad at you," she choked out, her voice barely a whisper. "but i can't stay mad when you comfort me like this."
jungkook's arms felt heavy around her, his usual warmth replaced by a cold knot of guilt.
"sweetheart," he started, his voice thick with remorse, "about last night..."she shakes her head and patted his chest, " don't worry about it, jungkook." she forced a smile and picked up her bag from the floor.
guilt gnawed at jungkook, a physical ache in his chest. her forced smile, a flimsy shield against the hurt he inflicted, shattered him.
"delilah, babe..." he started, his voice dropping to a pleading whisper.
but she was already turning away. "i'll see you around, jungkook," she said, her voice clipped and devoid of its usual warmth.
the male stood there realizing that he had really fallen into mingyu's manipulation and that resulted in him hurting the woman he cares about.
the words he had spoken to her last night still echoed in his mind, and he winced at the memory of calling her a cheater.
it was a cruel and unjust accusation, especially considering the circumstances of her recent breakup. she had been hurt by her ex's infidelity, and yet jungkook had added insult to injury by implying that she was somehow at fault.
" fuck, how can i fix this??" jungkook's mind started to race.
