"congratulations! you're pregnant."
those were the words that the doctor told them back in new york. delilah was happy but still worried about becoming a mother. jungkook on the other hand was thrilled. they shared the news with tatyana, delilah's mother, who was equally excited and even offered to visit during her daughter's pregnancy, although she had to stay due to work commitments. she promised to visit soon.
back in seoul, delilah was introduced as the new black woman doctor at asan medical center, the largest medical institution in korea. at four months pregnant, approximately 18 weeks, she was starting to get accustomed to her new life as a expectant mother. they have told their close friends the news except for jungkook's parents which will soon.
when delilah's belly was revealed, yoongi almost fainted, while jimin and taehyung just couldn't hopping around in excitement.
as they prepared for work, delilah was grateful that jungkook had been by her side since their return from new york. there were moments when she had breakdowns, but jungkook reassured her that he would be with her every step of the way.
jungkook emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a towel around his waist, and approached delilah as she styled her hair in the vanity room. he kissed her cheek and kneeled down to kiss her stomach. "good morning, little one," he cooed, pressing warm kisses on her clothed belly. "how are you feeling in there?" he asked, caressing the bump with his thumb. "i love you," he added.
delilah's lips softened into a smile as she reached out, her fingers gently trailing through jungkook's long hair. "he's okay, my love," she reassured him, her voice warmth. jungkook's gaze flickered upwards, a flicker of surprise crossing his features at the use of the masculine pronoun. "you want a boy?" he inquired.
the female offered a soft nod. "i do," she admitted, slightly blushing. "me too, sweetheart," jungkook replied, cupping her cheek before pulling her into a tender kiss. their foreheads rested, together, enjoying each other's warmth. delilah's hand drifted down, tracing the contours of his sculpted abdomen.
"we can find out the gender soon, babe. or do you want to wait a little longer?" he asked. "can we do it tomorrow?" she replied. the tattoo artist nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "sure, sweetheart. i'll schedule the appointment hm?" he said.
delilah's eyes dropped, and she let out a soft sigh. "i'm scared, darling," her voice trembled as she went into his embrace. jungkook's expression softened, and he wrapped his arms around her. "will it make you feel better if i tell you i'm scared too?" he whispered in her ear.
a giggle escaped delilah's lips at his confession. "a little?" she teased, a hint of relief replacing her fear. "okay, maybe more than a little." he conceded with a sheepish grin. "but listen, love" he continued, his voice firm yet gentle, "we're scared and excited at the same time. but what truly calms my nerves? knowing you'll be the most incredible mother to our little one."
his words sent a warm rush through delilah, a glistening tear tracing a path down her cheek. "you really think so?" she implored. jungkook brushed away the tear with his thumb, "i know so, sweetheart. we'll be okay, baby. i promise."
"will you be late tonight?" jungkook asked, pulling on a shirt. delilah fiddled with her necklace, avoiding his gaze. "no, i shouldn't be," she mumbled. the air hung heavy between them. jungkook knew something was bothering her, its going on lately. he knelt before, taking her hands in his. "is everything okay, baby? you seem worried."
delilah sighed and averted her gaze toward him. "i'm just nervous about telling your parents, tonight. what if your dad goes back to disliking me again?" jungkook's brow furrowed, "he won't, sweetheart."
