Except they couldn't find him.

Trevor spent the next couple of days combing through traffic cams, but the van had disappeared. They were fairly certain it had left Texas, but they didn't know what had happened to it after that. Trevor told them he was fairly certain the van had gone to New Mexico. He had searched and searched through the traffic cameras, looking for any sign, but the vehicle was so non-descript, it was hard to tell.

Heavy rains had killed any scent trails and not even Ragnar was able to track anything anymore. His wolf, Rollo, was able to track it for a while, but eventually they lost it once the full deluge of rain came. He was very irritated about that.

Mila was on edge, more so than anyone else, and barely slept. She was so worried about him, and even with the reassurance of his family and pack members, she wouldn't rest until he was found. She was more worried than they were.

She found that she really liked Ethan's parents, Daniel and Jenna, quite well. She'd been intimidated about meeting Daniel but she found him to be incredibly nice and overly concerned with her state of mind. He checked up on her regularly and kept her informed of what was going on, though so far nothing had been found. Levi seemed more upset about it than Daniel's pack was.

She also really liked his father, Ethan's grandfather, Caleb. He also made time for her frequently. Both men reminded her of Ethan. She could see traits of him in both of them. They both looked his age too, and when Isaac was with them, they looked more like brothers instead of three generations of Remington men. They were all three incredibly beautiful men.

Three days into the search. Daniel gave the command for them to bring in Dominic.

"Probably should have brought him in the first place," Ragnar said, his arms crossed over his chest.

"I didn't think it would take us this long," Daniel retorted. "Plus, you know he wasn't around."

"I didn't think it would take us this long either," Ragnar agreed.

"Who's Dominic?" Mila asked them both. She'd been sitting on the couch, half listening to their conversation, until she heard the name mentioned. If this guy could help them find Ethan, she was all for it.

"He's a member of our pack," Daniel told her.

"And you think he can find Ethan?" She wanted to pull out all stops to find him. But Regal Eclipse knew what they were doing and she had just observed. They seemed very coordinated about these things, though a lot of their communication was done through mind link, and while she could understand why they did that, it still annoyed her that she wasn't included. One day. Hopefully soon.

"Dominic is very good at finding people. He has many contacts all over the world. If anyone can find Ethan, it'll be him," Ragnar said. "He enjoys the hunt."

"I cannot figure out how in the world Ethan wouldn't wander back here soon anyways. The only thing that can really disconnect him from his wolf for any length of time is wolfsbane. Even after a while that quits working," Caleb said in annoyance.

"But if they took him out of the state," Noelle said. "It might take him a bit to get back. Especially if he doesn't have his phone with him."

"I keep hoping he will mind link Isaac," Daniel said with a sigh.

"Dominic will be here in a few hours," Nick spoke up. "He was actually home for a change."

Daniel turned to Trevor. "When was the last time you slept?"

Trevor looked up from his laptop and frowned. "I don't know."

"Go sleep now. Get a few hours in before Dominic gets here. You know he's going to want to talk to you about all of this, and coordinate with you," Daniel told him.

Trevor nodded, stood and stretched. "Wake me when he gets here." He disappeared out of the room.

Mila sat back, watching them all continue with what they were doing, and remembering what all Ethan had told her about them. Her gaze darted to Ragnar; the man Ethan had told her had been a Viking. She could see it. Her gaze then moved to Nick, then Caleb. If he was Daniel's father, he'd be at least over four hundred too. Ethan looked more like him than he did his own father, she realized. Her gaze finally moved back to Daniel. He was a very patient man. She'd noticed that as well. But he also had told her straight out, he wasn't leaving until he found Ethan. None of them were.

Dominic arrived a few hours later and walked into the room with a large bag. He was incredibly good looking as well, and Mila decided that had to be a werewolf trait. She had yet to meet one who wasn't easy on the eyes. His hair was black, his eyes also blue, and he was also very well built. The men of Regal Eclipse seemed to favor casual dress, and he too was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. She found herself wondering how old he was. Not that he looked any older than the rest of them. She remembered Ethan telling her that they all looked like they were in their twenties.

He sat his bag down on the floor near the table they were working on and nodded to Daniel with respect. "Alpha, fill me in."

"First off, let me introduce you to Mila, Ethan's mate." Daniel turned to her. "Mila, this is Dominic Beckham."

The gorgeous man smiled at her and nodded his head. "Pleasure to meet you, Mila."

Mila nodded back. It seemed like the standard greeting among them all. No one shook hands. Though the respect shown between Alamo Pack members to Regal Eclipse was obvious. She'd also noticed that Regal Eclipse was much more casual with each other when members of Alamo Pack weren't around. It was interesting to watch them all together, and the way they interacted with each other.

She'd also noticed that most of the men from Regal Eclipse all had accents. They were somewhat mild, though Nick's was pretty strong. This Dominic had a very strong accent as well. Ragnar's was a bit different from the others. Ethan didn't have an accent at all and neither did Isaac. It made her want to ask him more questions. She hoped she'd be able to.

The last three days had dragged by for her. She missed Ethan terribly and the patience of his pack members when it came to finding him annoyed her a bit. She knew nothing could happen to him, but still. She needed him back. For only knowing him the short period of time that she had, she missed him much more than she expected. He was on her mind constantly.

Daniel grew serious after the introduction and began to fill Dominic in on everything that had transpired over the last several days, starting with Ethan taking over Alamo Pack up until now. Mila helped, and Dominic didn't ask any questions; he just sat listening patiently. Trevor joined them a few moments later, looking half asleep, and he too told Dominic what he knew.

Mila was a bit stunned at how much Trevor could do. The guy was amazing and had tracked the van for quite a way before he lost it. She could tell it irritated him to no end. It hadn't had plates on it, so they weren't able to run them. Just a plain, white, non-descript van that had taken Ethan over state lines and out west. Out into the desert.

Dominic listened intently, not saying much, as they went over it all with him. Finally, when they were finished he asked his first question. "Where is Ragnar?"

Of all the things he asked, that was his question? Mila stared at him and he seemed to know and flashed her a smile.

"He's on his way up. He wanted to speak to you as well," Daniel said.

"We're working out of this room? Soundproof?" Dominic asked

"Yup."

"Okay." He turned back to Mila. "Mila, I will find your mate If it's the last thing I do."

She nodded. "Thank you." She did appreciate that. He seemed to be taking it seriously, though she wouldn't expect anything less.

"My pleasure." He picked up his large bag and opened it, then pulled out a laptop and set to work.

Mila watched him for a bit. She realized she really desperately needed to get out of the room. She was mentally and physically exhausted. But whenever she laid down to sleep, her mind worked overtime, keeping her awake, and she ended up not sleeping much at all. She highly doubted she'd gotten a full eight hours since Ethan had disappeared. She went to bed at night, and laid there, staring at the ceiling instead of sleeping. She thought the worst at that time too and she hated to go to bed. She'd rather sit up all night and stare at Trevor, willing him to find the van and Ethan. She stifled a yawn.
