Unfinished business

Howdy ya'll if this chapter is a little short I appoligize. I'm really anxious to get to Crosshair and Carlina. Enjoy this chapter and remember to leave comments and vote! 

The crew returned to the base on Anaxis with a very traumatized and very tired Echo. Rex had taken him to the med bay to be looked at. Carlina could tell that everyone had their suspiciones about Echo's loyalty. She was currently standing next to Mace Windu and Obi Wan Kenobi, Rex and Anakin standing around the holo table talking about the battle"We have more than a dozen active battlefronts here on Anaxis and we are loosing nearly every one."Rex pointed out snapping her back to the pressant, Mace Windu stroked his chin,"But if Admiral Trench can't suspect our moves we have a chance to retake the planet."Carlina heard him say,"I think I can help with that."Turning she saw Echo walking towards them, a medical droid following close behind. Rex excused himself,"Echo, I'm not sure your ready for battle just yet.""I'm not a liability sir. I can help."Mace windu raised an eyebrow at Carlina who just shrugged her shoulders, gathering her courage she spoke up."If the trooper has a plan I for one would love to hear it." This earned her a few shocked expressions, Carlina knew that the Generals didn't trust Echo but so far he hadn't shown any reason for them not to, he deserved to be heard. He stepped up to the table and slid his scomp into the port,"While General Windu and General Kenobi take a squad team to retake the assembly complex, General Storm and the Bad batch will lead me to Trench's new com vault. Which according to our latest data is in Trenchs dreadnought which is above Anaxis."Windu turned to the trooper,"Are you sure that if we get you on that ship you convince Trench's army to do what you want?""Absolutly sir. Unfortuatly I've been doing this for a long time, this time I can bring a victory to the Republic instead of defeat."Obi Wan smiled at Echo, "You have my approval trooper.""And you have mine as well. General Storm, make sure your squad as well as Anakin and Rex are ready to leave with in the hour.""Yes Master Windu."Bowing she clipped the mask over her face and briskly walked out of the room with Echo and Rex in tow. Approching the ship she watched as Wrecker and Anakin engaged in small talk, mainly about explosives and weapons,"Gather round men, lets get this ship ready to go in the hour. We are going to infultrate Trench's ship and put an end to this battle once and for all." The men hurried around the ship getting things ready, she turned and saw Echo leaning on the hull. Walking over she placed a hand on his shoulder,"If it makes you feel any better I trust you. If I hadn't I wouldn't have said anything about listening to your plan.""Thank you General, to be honest I think so far you, Rex and Skywalker are the only ones who really trust in me. I don't blame them, everyone thought I was dead only for me to show up here."She saw his eyes gloss over with emotion,"Once this mission is over you'll have plenty of time to recover on Kashyyk. That is if you want to join the squad."He looked at her with a brow raised,"Is that really an option?""Everyone has an option, this is my invitation. After this you can either go back to the 501st or you can join the Bad Batch. The choice is up to you.""Thank you General."Bording the ship they headed out,"Tech is everything ready?"Hunter asked leaning over Tech's shoulder,"Everything is ready Sarg, still not sure how we're going to land the ship.""Echo has a plan for that."Carlina said sitting down in the seat behind Tech, her arms folded."That makes me feel so much better."Tech muttered, Carlina saw Rex tense slightly,"What's that supposed to mean?""Technically Echo's mind belonged to the Sepertists till we unplugged him. It is safe to assume that we do not know where his loyalties lie.""Yeah well I know."Rex growled, "Please tell me we're going to blow something up!"Wrecker commented"Sorry Wrecker this is strictly a stealth mission."Anakin said patting the big man on the shoulder,"Oh, I hate that word.""Echo your up."Hunter said giving Echo some room to work,"As soon as I plug in I'll send a signal to the command ship."Tech spun slightly in his seat,"What kind of signal?""One that wont give us away, right?"Crosshair sneered earning him a sharp look from Carlina,"As far as the command ship knows we're just another shuttle comeing in for a landing."Echo explained plugging in, Hunter scoffed under his helmet."And I thought regs took risks."With bated breaths they waited for the all clear, a droids voice came over the com."Roger, roger shuttle TC-159. You may approch and land."Carlina let out a sigh of relief, the plan was now in motion and was working much to her surprise. Crosshair looked at her and noticed how tense she was, he grabbed her elbow and led her to the back of the ship."You okay?""I'm fine, just nervous.""We'll be fine, if things go according to plan we'll be in and out of there.""Thanks."He smiled at her and watched as she walked back to the main part of the ship. Getting on the Dreadnought was easy enough, they soon found the room and Echo was sending out the signals needed back on the planet. They ran into some issues that required the Jedi's attention, Hunter, Echo, Wrecker and Tech were running down a series of hallways"He's going to try and top me, just watch." They soon met Carlina and Anakin,"Hope you weren't waiting for us."Anakin stated,"Where's Crosshair?"Carlina asked looking around, the sound of boots hitting metal came closer. Carlina saw Crosshair throwing pucks onto the walls, sliding on his knees he spun."Did you miss me?"He asked raising his riffle, taking aim he brought his arm down and across his face,"How touching."The droids were advancing down the halls, letting off a shot they watched as the bullets bounced off the pucks taking down all the droids, even Carlina was shocked enough to take off her mask, Hunter patted a very shocked Wrecker on the shoulder."Don't worry Wrecker, you'll top him next time."Crosshair got up and leaned in close to Wrecker,"No he wont!"Wrecker let out a small cry, once they were back on the ship Anakin held something up for everyone to see,"I've got a present for you Wrecker!"Wrecker gasped and took the detinator out of Anakins hands,"Oh seriously? I get to blow the whole stinking thing up?"Crosshair shook his head,"This is the best day of my fucking life."Wrecker wiped a tear from his eye as he pressed the button, Carlina watched as the command ship and two others explode. It was truely a sight to behold. Back on Anaxis Carlina was walking next to Windu, Rex and Obi Wan."Captain Rex, Corporal Echo and the Bad batch you have done the Republic a great service. Thanks to your couragious acts the shipyards will be up and running in no time."Obi Wan smiled and bid Carlina a farewell, looking at Rex she whispered something into his ear. Nodding his head he watched as she walked to the ship, pulling Echo aside he began to talk,"Look Echo we've known each other for a long time if that's where you want to be then that's where you should be.""I've been giving it some thought, and I think it's time I moved on. I feel like I could do more with the bad batch. Not to mention some time off from fighting would be great for my health."Rex laughed, tears forming in his eyes he watched as Echo walked to the ship. He stopped and turned and watched as Rex saluted them, Carlina watched as each member of the bad batch salute Rex back. Once Rex had turned his back Carlina placed a hand on Echo's shoulder,"Welcome to the squad Corporal, welcome to your new family."
