Gentle, slow breaths escaped Haru's gaping mouth. They were settled; you'd almost think she was dead. Her lifeless body lay on the hard, cold floor of a closet. You'd think she'd get better treatment based on Nadakhan's newfound liking for the girl, even though he had given orders for his crew to place her in a spare room. Yet, his crew hasn't listened to his demand. However, the unconscious girl was alive.
"Drop her off the plank!"
Before Haru knew it, she was rapidly falling to her so-called, death. Her voice hurt so much from screaming, a peep couldn't even come out of her mouth. The slow spinning of the chair made her feel as if her organs were about to spill out of her mouth.
Haru gasped into consciousness, springing into an upright position. Gasping for the oxygen she barely received, her head felt light and fuzzy. Her gaze changed from the sight of the closet door to her legs. What happened? Why did her legs look as if they'd been torn apart by a bear? She raised her arms to examine a great number of wounds present on her skin. Haru released a shaky sigh filled with anxiety. Why didn't she remember a thing?
"Wakey wakey." A man with an eye patch opened the door. "Oh, you're already awake. I guess you just made my job easier."
The man grabbed Haru by the arms, partially forcing her to her feet. She whimpered in pain at the sudden tug on her body.
Haru's mind raced with all the possibilities that may take place. Where was this mysterious man leading her? Every step he took seemed to deepen the mystery, and Haru couldn't help but wonder about the destination and what awaited her there.
As they arrived at the captain's quarters, Haru's eyes met with a pair of orangey brown, with a great presence of evil lurking in the air.
"Please, take a seat." The degenerate Jin's voice had a calming tone to it, which caught Haru off guard.
The man with the eye patch forced Haru to a chair across from Nadakhan.
"Now, now, Silvertooth, I wouldn't want to hurt our lovely guest," Nadakhan's devilish grin was unsettling for Haru. She shifted around in her chair to find a comfortable position, even though the environment was very unpleasant.
"My apologies, captain." Silvertooth took the shackles connected to the table in front of Haru and locked them on her wrists. Haru put up a lack of fight against Silvertooth as he did so. Her submissiveness would lead to an absence of unwanted trouble.
"Thank you, Silvertooth. Now, leave!" The sudden change of tone caught Haru off guard. She flinched at the unexpected sharpness in the sound, her heart pounding hard against her chest as she struggled to regain her composure.
"Oh, my sincerest apologies, my love. I did not wish to startle you."
'Love? Why is he calling me love? Why am I here? Question is... How did I even get here? Am I a part of his crew that I don't remember? Am I his wife?' Haru questioned herself. 'I need to get out of here.'
"Who are you? Why am I here?" Haru started with fearful questions."Oh... It appears when you took that great fall, you do not remember what happened." Nadakhan smiled at this sudden occurrence.
"Great fall? What's going o-" Nadakhan spontaneously appeared behind Haru and covered her lips with the palm of his hand.
"No need to worry about that my darling..." Nadakhan paused. "You as my beautiful fiancée will become my wife here in a few short days." The Jin released his hand from Haru's mouth.
"I'm your... fiancée?" Haru's breath became rapid and uneven as if she was struggling to catch it. Her stomach twisted and churned, causing a wave of nausea to wash over her. The room began to spin, and she felt lightheaded and unsteady on her feet. Why was she feeling this way? She was only with her future husband, but why did it feel wrong?
"I'm sorry, but could you free me from these chains?" Haru plastered on the best smile she could give." I have to use the restroom."
"Of course, darling." Nadakhan floated over to his deck to find a small key. He took hold of it, made his way back to Haru, and unlocked the chains off of her wrists.
"Thank you, my beloved." Haru tried her best to hide her negative emotions toward the Jin.
Thankfully, Haru did not forget her way around the Bounty. Trying her best not to run and hide, she placed one foot in front of the other and found her way to the washroom on the lower deck.
She leaned up against the bathroom door and slid down to the floor as tears swelled up in her eyes. Haru began to cuddle her knees, struggling to hold back the water-like fluid to flow from her eyes. Nevertheless, she was not strong enough to control the great deal of emotions she was feeling. She began to hyperventilate, tucking her head against her knees. The lack of oxygen in her body caused her to feel light-headed. Haru almost began to wail, but she knew she mustn't draw attention to herself. The situation she was in was unbarring. She didn't know how she got there, who she was with, barely even knowing who she was. Her heart pounded so hard, that it was almost as if it was going to jump out of her mouth.
Through all that agony, something popped into her head. A name. She knew it but it was unfamiliar to her. "Lloyd," she spoke under her now caught, breath. It felt so strange to her. She knew it. She knew she knew it. For some reason, the name came naturally to her. It clicked in her head.
Haru wiped her tears. She felt something. She couldn't describe it. Whatever it was, she knew this Lloyd guy was going to save her. Maybe she was delusional, but she had faith. Faith that one day would be okay.
