Jay poured a cup of scorching, hot tea for, you know who. He wanted the teacup to look perfect, sprinkling water lily petals around the saucer he had picked hours ago.
However, something felt off. It was as if he was missing something.Jay stood in front of the kitchen counter, staring puzzled at the cup of healing tea, placing a finger below his lower lip. But then it came to him. 'Chocolate ice cream.' Chocolate ice cream is Nya's favourite dessert, especially when chocolate chips are made with it too.
Jay placed the cup of tea onto a breakfast tray before preparing a bowl. Walking over to the fridge, he opened the freezer and took out the carton of chocolate ice cream. Jay placed the tub on the counter, grabbed an ice cream spoon, took the lid off, and began to scoop out perfect portions and place them into the bowl.
Jay's smile widened as he carefully placed the bowl of ice cream on the breakfast tray for Nya. The simple act of preparing a treat for her filled his heart with warmth and joy. As he made his way down the hall, Jay couldn't help but think about how he could continue to make Nya feel like a princess. Her giggles and laughter never failed to bring an overwhelming sense of happiness to his heart.
However, as Jay's mind wandered, he found himself fixated on a nagging concern. What if Nya were to reject him? What impact would her refusal have on their relationship? However, Jay realized that these worries were unfounded. What he truly longed for was to gaze upon Nya's radiant and captivating countenance.
Jay knocked and opened his bedroom door to see Nya half awake on his bed. "Hey, beautiful. I've got a treat for you." Jay gently spoke as he sat on the side of his bed.
Nya's heart fluttered knowing that Jay had done something nice for her. Her lips curled into a smile as she looked at Jay. She felt bad that she couldn't do anything in return. Jay had always done something sweet for her whenever she was ill. Even if it was just a minor cold.
"Thank you so much, Sparky. I promise I'll do something better for you when I'm better."
Jay chuckled. "Maybe you can. And maybe you can sooner once you drink this tea. It's a healing tea. And thank the First Spinjitzu Master that Wu had left some behind for his archeology trip with Misako, Pixel, and Garmadon. Or else we would have been here for weeks!" Jay enthusiastically added, placing the tray upon Nya's lap.
Nya couldn't help but laugh at Jay's comment. She always cherished Jay's talent for uplifting people, even in the most challenging times.
Nya flinched when she burned her tongue on the tea. "Ouch."
"Nya, are you okay?!" Jay ran over to the free side of the queen-sized bed and crawled to Nya on the mattress. "Do I need to get some ice to cool the tea down?!"
Nya laughed at Jay's sudden panic. "No, Jay. I just need you." She rested her head on Jay's shoulder.
The master of lightning's heart melted at the sudden feeling of Nya's touch. He moved into a position where he and Nya were comfortable and began to wrap his arms around the recovering girl.
Before you know it, Nya finished munching on her ice cream and slowly sipping away at her tea.
Her aching muscles began to heal faster, and it helped even more that Jay was here to comfort her. He even went all the way to massage any spot that was sore on her. In Nya's mind, Jay was getting the Best Boyfriend of the Year award."I love you, Sparky."
Jay couldn't help but let out a soft, warm chuckle as he gazed fondly into Nya's eyes. Without speaking, he tenderly lifted her chin and softly kissed the love of his life, pouring all his feelings into that heartfelt moment.
