"How do you like the feel of this place, Captain?" The Mechanic asked with the uncertainty that the evil Djinn would find the factory aesthetically unpleasant.
Not even a second passed by before Nadakhan expressed his disgust for the former auto body shop. "Ugh... This place is insufferable. Why must you keep this-... ergh- place in shambles?"
Nadakhan found the industrial aesthetic of the factory unappealing. He much preferred the serene beauty of vintage temples or residential buildings. There was something perfect and peaceful about the aged architecture that he found comforting, especially when he wanted to spend time reflecting on or taking advantage of unsuspecting, wishful victims.
"This is not a place to call a base of operation. We must settle elsewhere." Nadakhan informed The Mechanic. "Although, this place is perfect to continue to produce your strange, mechanical dummies." Nadakhan dangled and shook his hand.
"Where else should we hide away, captain?" The mechanic made eye contact with Nadakhan. "There isn't much else we can go to."
Nadakhan gave Mechanic an evil smile only a Djinn would give. "Leave it to me..."
~~~~~~
As the radiant sun dipped below the horizon, the tranquil scene was shattered by a series of devastating events. Innocent lives, one by one, were abruptly wished away from their peaceful existence and ensnared within the ancient teapot, the same vessel that had held Nadakhan the Djinn captive for centuries. Each soul that vanished into the teapot seemed to empower Nadakhan, as though the dark magic he had unleashed was feeding on their disappearance, granting him unimaginable strength.
Throughout a few days, large masses of land suddenly drifted away from Ninjago to the ocean. These patches of land had not only departed from the coast but also inland too. Areas you wouldn't find close to the ocean have broken away. Rapid earthquakes would be present to indicate land was drifting off to sea, never to be seen again.
A large number of people joined forces with Nadakhan and his pirate crew. Many of them constructed Nadakhan's current base.
~~~~~~
"Captain, I am suspicious of your sudden disappearances lately." The Mechanic walked with Nadakhan down to the lower deck. "Why have you been gone for so long these past few weeks?"
"Don't you worry, my disloyal number 2, we will be arriving in Captain Soto's ship soon. Now... I will be going to see my gorgeous fiancée. You go up to the bridge and manage the crew." Nadakhan disappeared.
Haru looked in the mirror witnessing a face she could barely recognize. The clothing she was given gave her a vintage Victorian appearance. Her dress was bright yellow with a snug corset wrapped around her waist and small puff sleeves clinging against Haru's arms.
Haru felt somewhat pretty, however, this aesthetic was not her style. Haru preferred the look of a medium-length Japanese Kimono with dark colours and a little bit of pattern.
A knock on the door caught Haru's attention. She quickly glanced over before Nadakhan the Djinn opened the door.
"Hello, Haru," Nadakhan smiled and raised his eyebrows. "I'm glad to see you here on the ship. We're on our way to the place where our wedding will be held."
Haru let out a sigh, her mind still swirling with uncertainty about the concept of marriage. As she gazed down at her reflection in the mirror, a wave of confusion washed over her. She felt lost, not just in terms of her impending nuptials with Nadakhan, but in a broader existential sense. Her memories seemed to elude her, leaving her grappling with a profound sense of disorientation. While she could recall her dear friend Charmaine and her selfless work at Ninjago's Dormitory for the Parentless, other recollections felt obscured by a haze of mysticism, both from the recent past and those further back.
"Nadakhan, may I ask, where exactly are we going?" Haru turned around to make eye contact with the deceitful Djinn.
"Why tell you, when I can show you!" Nadakhan spread his arms out. The expression on his face made it seem as if he was excited. "Come with me to the poop deck. We can just about see land on the horizon!"
Haru and Nadakhan made their way up to the main deck and looked off the bow of the captured ship. Haru's eyes narrowed trying to get a glimpse of the nearing land. They were still too far away from their destination, but as the ship drew near, you could see beautiful parts of Ninjago that drifted off at sea.
Haru's eyes widened in surprise. "Woah..."
"Ahh, Do you like it? I wanted to make it... Irresistible for my, gorgeous fiancée." Nadakhan smiled as Haru looked up at him.
"It's magnificent." Haru smiled as her eyes trailed back to the mass of islands.
"I call it... Jenjago!"
As the ship drew near, Mr. G guided the Destiny's Bounty up close to a dock. A fellow pirate took orders from Mr. G, and placed a ramp, so that the rest of the crew may be able to leave the ship.
"Come on, my fiancée. Let us get you prepared for our wedding."
Jenjago was beautiful. An assortment of islands paired together made the place look very unique. Cherry blossom trees were collected together, surrounding a recognizable building: Chen's temple.
Also, many tall buildings from Ninjago city were planted amongst many other former locations of Ninjago. The crystal caves, bits and pieces of Dead Man's Squall, small islands of Heroshi's Labrinth, Dyer Mansion and Four Weapons blacksmith.
"Here, my darling is where we will be holding our ceremony." Nadakhan gestured toward Chen's monastic complex.
Haru remained silent. She was so mesmerized by the beauty of the linked islands, that it took her a moment to link her eyes with the magnificent structure Nadakhan was pointing at.
"The temple lay in ruins, with debris and filth scattered all around. Despite its sorry state, an idea formed in my mind to bring it back to its former glory, when it wandered out to sea," Nadakhan declared as he gracefully floated and spun around. "It would be the ideal place for us to conduct our ceremony!"
Haru's lips curled into a smile of uncertainty. "Yes... Isn't that lovely?"
"Come, come, we must get you prepared for our wedding next week!" Nadakhan eagerly grasped Haru's hand, practically dragging her to the temple.
Haru found herself in a state of overwhelming confusion as her mind went blank. She struggled to fathom why she couldn't recall her own identity or the true nature of her connection with the Djinn. It seemed like a tale of woe straight out of a forbidden fairy tale, hidden from the knowledge of the world. How had she become entangled in this bewildering predicament? Her heart ached for the familiarity of her life in Ninjago City, where she could simply be an unremarkable individual. She yearned for the day when she could break free from the relentless turmoil and discord.
The two had arrived at the temple and began to traverse through the halls of the gorgeous space. "Just up these stairs will be the room that you will be staying in and dressing yourself for our elopement," Nadakhan spoke with fake contentment.
The Djinn opened the door for Haru as she walked in. He had not said a word, but just smiled and closed the door as Haru gave him an oblivious expression.
Haru's mouth let out a much-needed sigh of relief. She had noticed a bed placed against the left side of the wall and dragged her feet against the floor over to the mattress. Taking a seat, Haru noticed how soft and cozy the bed was. However, she couldn't help but lie and melt into the pleasant comfort of the mattress.
As Haru cuddled up against a pillow, she couldn't help but think about the name that had given her great comfort days ago. Her eyes swelled up with tears, praying that one day a person with such a name would sweep her out of the situation she was in. Maybe one day. A day that felt too far to come.
