Me and Trinity walked to the corner store as we were craving for a late night snack, the block was quite there was only a few people out which was unusual

"Why is it so quiet?" I asked "I don't know I think there a party or sum" Trinity shrugged making me nod after the whole ordeal with Caine

I was good on going out it seemed like everytime I went outside he seemed to be outside too

"So when you suppose to get the keys to your crib?"

"They said this week but I don't think I am, they be playin in my face" I shrugged Trinity chuckled shaking her head

"They do, when I got my place they was playing with me for two weeks" Trinity shook her head causing me to chuckle

As we got to the corner store we saw the usual boys on the corner, expect for this time I didn't see Caine
which was a shocker for me

Every time I looked over to this corner Caine was standing on it but today was different, I guess

"Oop there go your man" I teased Trinity as I watched Ty just back away from a car, Trinity smacked her lips smiling small

"I just wanna know how did this happen" I pointed to her then in the direction Ty was in, I opened the door to the corner store walking in Trinity behind me

"I don't know his persistent ass finally got what he wanted" Trinity rolled her eyes shrugging I chuckled going to the back of the store grabbing a Arizona

"Awww not my bestie in loveee" I teased Trinity rolled her eyes grabbing a drink herself "Shut up stupid" she walked away from me making me laugh as I made my way to the counter all the guys that were on the corner were now coming inside the corner store

"Wassup mama" Ty spoke to Trinity, I stood in front of them waiting for my turn to pay I looked outside the corner seeing nobody outside now

I was still confused on why the streets were so dead tonight "Can I chill withchu tonight?" I heard Ty ask "Why cause you ain't got shit to do on the corner?" Trinity asked with a bit of sass making me smile to myself

My best friend was so mean

"Nah ma, I just miss my woman" Ty spoke smoothly, it was finally my turn to pay I placed my Arizona down opening my phone for apple pay

"How you doin tonight?" The clerk asked me I smiled up at him "Good, how about you" He scanned my drinking tapping away at the screen

"Better now that I've seen you" He complimented I chuckled paying for my drink "Have a nice night" I grabbed my Arizona smiling small the man chuckled putting his attention on Trinity and Ty now

I wasn't about to put anybody else in Caine's path, he was definitely the type to harass every nigga that even looked at me

I don't know what happened to Micah, I haven't seen him since that night but I knew if I hadn't seen him by now I wouldn't be seeing him at all

"Abbott tonight?" Trinity asked me with Ty right by her side with his arm wrapped around her I shook my head

"Nah i'm pretty tired tonight" I shrugged Trinity nodded as we walked out the store "Guess it's just me and you babe" Trinity looked over to Ty as he held a smirk on his face

"I guess so" They flirted with their eyes making me gag I hated seeing people in love while I wasn't

"Get a room" I rolled my eyes as we began walking back to Trinity's house "Shut up hoe" Trinity snapped back I rolled my eyes

I was in my room sipping on my Arizona when I got a call from Caine's mom, I answered the phone before I got a facetime call

"Hey Ms. Brown"

"Hello sweetie, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing good, how about you?" I asked as I adjusted the camera to my face "I'm doing just fine, you know who was asking about you?"

I frowned "Who?"

Ms. Brown shifted the camera to Riley, I gasped "Hi pumpkin" I smiled Riley smiled grabbing the phone "Hi T!" She spoke happily

"I miss you so much, where are you?" Riley asked her words ten times clearer than the last time I've heard her talk and she looked older

It's only been a couple months but my baby was growing on me "I'm with Auntie Trin baby"

"Why?"

"Me and daddy are just not on the best terms right now pumpkin" I spoke softly she pouted "Daddy said you left him" Riley went on mindlessly speaking

A wave of emotions came over me before they quickly subsided "Yes I did pumpkin" I nodded confirming her words she looked at me with sad eyes

"Why?"

"Grown folks business Riley" Ms. Brown spoke causing me to sigh in relief not having to explain what happened

"Alright now go on to bed Riley" Ms. Brown grabbed her phone "Okay, I love you T and Good night!"

"I love you too pumpkin" I smiled as the camera faced Ms. Brown again "Aww I miss my baby" I sighed Ms. Brown chuckled

"I know you do sweetheart, she misses you too"

"I just wish he would let me see her" I sighed shaking my head "He has every right to keep her away but still" I went on Ms. Brown sighed

"Y'all need to talk, y'all too grown to be acting like a bunch of kids" She preached I listened intently "Y'all need to sit down and have a civilized conversation because regardless if y'all want to admit it or not, y'all miss and love each other"

"and even though Riley isn't yours biologically she is still being affected by y'all's drama" Ms. Brown finished silence took over to the phone call before I nodded

"I agree but Ms. Brown talking to him is like talking to a brick wall" I came up with an excuse she scoffed

"Then I suggest y'all see a therapist, cause I ain't getting in the middle of this and you already know your parents are not getting in the middle of this" Ms. Brown spoke the truth I nodded

"Yeah maybe that's what we need" I shrugged "Where is he now?"

"His jewelry store"

"He has his own store?" I asked in shock "Yep he just got the building this week, he's prepping it for opening day"

"Oh wow" I spoke in shock, Caine always talked about having his own business especially his own jewelry business he loved jewelry, especially grills

"Yep, my son finally gettin out them streets now it's Tyrique turn" Ms. Brown laughed causing me to chuckle

"Well it was good talking to you Ms. Brown I have to get ready for work tomorrow"

"Oh you finally got a job?"

"Yes ma'am, I'm a sports trainer for the Rockets"

"Well congratulations sweetie"

"Thank you" I smiled small "Okay sweetheart I'll talk to you later"

"Okay, bye"

"Bye bye" I hung up laying my head down on my bed sighing my mind drifting off to Caine, The way things played out the past couple of months was far from repairable but having an actual conversation couldn't hurt

right?
