"Strawberries" Trin threw a pack of strawberries into the cart "White chocolate" She threw some chocolate in the cart

"Grapes, pineapples" Trinity continued to throw things inside of the cart, my face screwed up staring at her

"Who playin for all of this?"

"You big shot, you got your own place now and don't forget about the big girl job"

"You grown grown" Trinity smiled pointing at me I rolled my eyes smiling "Whatever nigga don't go overboard, I don't get paid till next week so my money is gettin low"

Trinity nodded walking further into the store, I trailed behind her grabbing some other stuff off shelves

"What we eatin tonight?"

"Shit I don't know, kinda feelin some tacos" I shrugged Trinity nodded throwing some sugar into the cart

"Same" Trinity walked down the chips aisle grabbing some dynamites and hot fries "Damn Trin, you gon eat all of this?" I asked as she put the two bags in the cart

"Hell yeah, Girl did you forget that your best friend can put it away?" Trinity rolled her neck at me I laughed grabbing some turbos for myself

"Whatever let's get the wine and get out of here before you buy the whole store" I walked over to the wine aisle with Trinity right behind me

As we turned the aisle I saw a familiar figure "Shit" I mumbled under my breath hoping it wasn't who I thought it was

"Is that?" Trinity went on before going silent, I then heard the small voice "Caine" I sighed getting ready to turn around Trinity stopped me giving me a knowing look

"Talk to him"

"No I'm not ready"

"Stop being a pussy"

"You stop being so pushy!" I yelled low "T!" I heard Riley yell I snapped my head at her as she kicked her small legs in the cart trying to get to me

"Daddy look T!" Riley went on "Nevermind babygirl doin all the work for me" Trinity smirked standing back

Caine turned around with a frown on his face before it quickly disappeared "Hi" I spoke small waving, Caine looked over me before he nodded his head up

"Wassup" He grabbed Riley pulling her out the cart and setting her down to the ground, she ran over to me I picked her up as she hugged my neck

"I missed you so much!"

"Me too pumpkin" I rubbed her back looking over to Caine his attention wasn't on me but instead the wine he was looking at

"Can you come back home?"

"No pumpkin" I shook my head "Why?" Riley pouted

"Cause I got my own home now" I bounced her in my arms she gasped "Can I see"

"Uh" I trailed off looking over to Caine again his back still facing me "You're gonna have to ask your father" I looked back her she nodded wanting to be put down

She ran back over to Caine calling him he looked at her putting a bottle of wine in the cart, Riley asked her question Caine looked over to me as I stood there awkwardly

I watched as Caine shook his head causing Riley to pout she walked back over to me I bent down to her level wrapping my arms around her

"He said no"

"It's okay baby next time, Okay?"

"You promise?" She looked at me with wet eyes I wiped the tears that ran down her face "I promise" I nodded

She sniffled wiping her tears before giving me a kiss on the cheek I smiled kissing her forehead "I love you"

"I love you too pumpkin" I stood up watching her walk away back to Caine, he lifted her up back into the cart then walking off

"So much for talking huh?" I turned around speaking to no one as Trinity was gone I frowned "No she didn't" I spoke in disbelief shaking my head

"Bye daddy!" Riley yelled as her mother took her out the car "Bye babygirl"

Janiesha put her down on the ground telling her to go into the house, she walks over to my side of the car I began to roll the window up

"Caine" Janiesha sassed popping her hip out I sighed leaving the window half way down "What Neisha"

"Look Riley is going to the preschool soon and I need some money for her back to school clothes"

"What?" I frowned looking at her crazy "She's three, she don't give a fuck about what she wears"

"Yeah well I do Caine" Janiesha sassed at me I sighed before shaking my head "No"

"No?" She looked at me with raised eyebrows "No man, I just gave you ass 300 last week for some "Clothes" so, no"

"Fuck you Caine!" Janiesha began walking away "Yeah it's always fuck me" I scoffed starting my car and driving away

I laid in my bed in silence think about the past couple of months with my store opening in a few weeks I couldn't stop thinking about the preparations for it

Then my mind floated to Tiana, I ran into her today and I couldn't stop thinking about her

I was thrown off guard and quite frankly I didn't think the grocery store was the best place for us to talk especially with my daughter there

I picked up my phone scrolling to her contact then pressing messages seeing that the last time we texted each other was back in March it was now August

Me: I know it's kinda late but you trynna talk?

I typed out before deleting and thinking about another way to send this text my thumbs waved across the keyboard as I thought

Me: Hey, how you doin? you down to talk tonight?

I sent the message shutting my phone off taking a deep breath after a few minutes I felt my phone buzz

Tiana: I'm doing good how about you? And yeah I'm down to talk tonight!

I smirked typing a message back

Me: I'm coolin, Imma come pick you up in 30 mins.
Me: send yo loc

I stood up from my bed walking into my closet as I watched the bubbles pop up then disappeared then they popped up again

Tiana: You can get me from Trin's house

I turned off my phone grabbing some clothes
