(This is going to be a short chapter)

Kol had laid in his coffin years on end. Nik had decided to dagger him again. Its not like Kol had done anything. He was just having some fun.

But as he laid there, half awake half asleep. He could see a vision. A baby running around. At first the vampire didn't know what it meant. Was that some random kid?

As days, years went on all he saw was this girl. He saw her life. How she grew up. Her first day of school. Her first dance competition.

As he felt the cold dagger being removed from his chest he sighed. He couldn't get up just yet. His body needed to heal.

"Kol! Brother get up." Rebekah shook her brother awake causing him to shoot up a smirk on his face.

"Hello sister." Kol took the body and drained it of its blood.

"Come we mustn't wait. Nik will throw a fit." Rebekah shooed her brother out of his coffin and up the stairs. "You have been gone for so long. I mean so much has happened. Elijah found a women. Nik has been running around like a headless chicken."

"And you?" Kol looks at his sister.

"Don't worry about me." She waved her hand around as she threw clothes at him and then left the room.

As the night went on all Kol could think about was the girl he had watched grow up. But there was no way it was now. The houses looked to advanced to be this time. And her clothes were certainly not dresses.

And so as Kol wondered around he found a book. He grabbed it and decided to write to the girl. Knowing that one day he will find her and she can read all about his life. Not what she hears but what he thinks.

Layla sighed as she flipped through Kols book. It was now around 4 am and Klaus had sent her off to bed hours ago thinking she would sleep. But she couldn't. Every time she closed her eyes she saw Kol. His brown head of hair. Brown eyes. She had wondered how he knew she would read his journals.

Layla didn't want to call the diaries. Kol wasn't Stefan.

"Nik is trouble. He keeps daggering us off one by one. You have to watch your back Layla. You never know what he will do."

That was it. Layla snapped the book shut. That was the first time Kol had written her name. Now she was kinda freaked out. How did he know?

But the funny thing is Kol didn't know. He had never known her name until she came into Klaus's life. One day he had just been so angry and started writing he didn't even notice the name he wrote down.

So what was it about the pair? What drew Kol to Layla. What drew Layla to Kol?
