Niklaus and Elijah Mikaelson were sitting in a room of the house they were living in reading. As they sat in their seats books in their laps Klaus kept looking at his brother with a smirk on his face. A dead girl lay on the table in between the two brothers as Rebekah Mikaelson the only sister of the family walks into the room.

Stopping and looking between her only brothers who are alive she sighs and speaks. "So this is what you do the first time we're back together as a family, vampire book club."

"Reading edifies the mind, sister. Isn't that right Elijah?" Klaus says not even glancing at his sister but looking to his brother.

"Yes. That's quite right, Niklaus." Elijah says not looking up from his book.

"And what's this business." Bekah says referring to the girl laying on the table dead.

Elijah sighs while saying. "This is a peace offering."

"I presumed, after so much time, desiccating in a coffin, that my big brother might be a bit peckish." The younger Mikaelson brother said.

"So I explained to my little brother that forgiveness cannot be bought." The eldest Mikaelson said. "I'd simply prefer to see a change in behavior that indicates contrition and personal growth, not this nonsense."

"I couldn't very well let her go to waste, could I?" Klaus says.

Rebekah sighs. "Well i suppose i'll fetch the rubbish bin because she is staining a 200 year old carpet, and i very well know the baby mama who is going to walk into this room any minute might throw up at the sight of her just lying there. " With that the blonde leaves the room and Elijah looks over his book at the carpet and does in fact see blood.

As Elijah gets up to leave the room following after Hayley who had just walked through, Layla walks into the room. "Oh! dead body, that's a body." She turns around and gags a little.

Klaus looks up to her and smiles. "You alright there love?"

"There is a dead body laying on the table, did you know that?" The blonde asks not looking at him.

Klaus shakes his head the slightest, "Yes, i very much did seeing as i brought her here."

Layla sighs not feeling like she has to throw up any more. "Nik i told you how i feel about the dead bodies around the house, you-"

"'Can't just leave them lying around'" Klaus cuts her off knowing what she was going to say. "Im sorry love but Rebekah is going to fetch the rubbish bin."

Layla turns to glare at him and he just smiles at her. Klaus and Layla had gotten... well close? I don't know if that's the word for it. Anyway's she was relying on him a lot and he was the same to her. Layla had communicated with him and he just listened to her rant about saving the animals and how we need to protect wild life. And honestly, he thought it was cute how much passion she had for such small creatures. And she would listen to him when he was telling her about his trips from a long time ago. Her favourite's were always the ones with his brother Kol. He was probably her favourite Mikaelson.

When Layla had started to only call him Nik, he didn't know what was so special about it, but it gave him a weird feeling on the inside.

As the blonde sits down next to her baby daddy, she smiled at him and leaned her head on his shoulder as he read out some of the book to her knowing she loved it when he read to her. And secretly he knew the baby loved it too, after hearing the heartbeat spike while he was reading.

Layla had gotten up to get a drink and promised Nik she would be back later so he could finish reading to her, as she was walking to the kitchen Rebekah walked in with cleaning supplies and the said a small 'thank you' to her blonde best friend.

But as she walked back into the room Nik was gone. She looked around But Rebekah spoke. "Elijah went to Davina and your baby daddy went somewhere to take care of business."

Layla sighed, "He was supposed to read to me when i got back." She fell back onto the couch as Hayley walked into the room and sat on another couch.

"So what are you two anyway, i mean you act all mushy mushy but there is no label." The brunette asked.

Layla looked at her and smirked. "So what are you and Elijah i mean you act mushy mushy but there is no label."

Rebekah laughed as Hayley glared at both blondes. "You answer mine i will answer yours." She simply said.

"We aren't anything, were just two people getting along for the sake of the little girl growing in my tummy." Layla said as she looked to her stomach and smiled.

If there was one thing Rebekah Mikaelson knew about Layla Andrews it was that she had passion. When someone were to bring up animal cruelty that girl could talk for days. But she also knew the Andrews girl had for thing for her brother, they were always next to each other when in a room together and Nik enjoyed her company. So she knew her brother was smitten too. He was just to afraid to admit it because when he did, he could get hurt.

But there was also the fact that Layla Andrews was sweet and caring but she had a devil side. Maybe thats why the Mikaelson siblings took a liking to the fiery blonde, or maybe it was because she was a chance at happiness for them all.

Rebekah a best friend, a sister. Elijah a sister, a protector for his brother, the thing he wanted most for his younger brother. And for Niklaus, love, someone who takes your breath away, who makes your heart stop beating when their sad. Someone who knows you better than you know yourself; and they had all hoped that Layla Andrews would be that girl for their sake. But there one question,

Was she that perfect?
