Phantom had been returning from the city of the queen, Encto city and he heard a loud squeal in the forest close to his village, he decided to see if he could finish off the dying boar and bring it home for his dinner.
As he approached the trapped and dying animal, he saw Brennus packing up some things into his hide bags, just as he was going to ask Brennus if he needed any help, Brennus suddenly ran off and shifted to his beastman form and flew away.
Phantom was shocked by this and decided to go ahead and get the boar and clean it up and take it back to the village for Brennan and find out why Brennan left like he did.
Phantom quickly stabbed the dying boar killing it, and just as quickly he trussed it up and put it across his shoulders and ran to the village to see what was going on.
Phantom had been gone from the village for a long while to try to win a place in the guard for the queen and he was just coming home to let his village know that he would be moving to Encto City as a new Guard.
He finally arrived at the village and noticed a crowd surrounding Yiop the healer's hut.
Being concerned that someone had been injured or killed he quickly dropped off the boar on Brennen's front porch and ran back to Yiop's hut to find out what was going on.
As he made his way back the crowd suddenly started to cheer and clap, Excitement and joy on their faces.
He didn't know what to think as he approached the overly excited crowd.
He stood to the back of the crowd as the village elder and healer Yiop came out with a tiny bundle in his hands, behind him stood Brennan also holding a tiny bundle.
Yiop held up the bundle and with tears of joy in his eyes and a voice that was choked with happiness stated that the village and he himself had been blessed with twin newborn female kits, Brennan held up his tiny bundle as well.
Brennan also had tears of joy in his eyes as he stated that their female and their baby female kits were healthy and that the visitations wouldn't be possible until after the presentation of the kits at the next village bonfire, the bonfire would be held next moon.
Of course that made all the village beastmen cheer once more.
Phantom went back to retrieve the boar and took it back to Yiop's hut, by the time he got there the crowd had dispersed and returned to whatever they had been doing before the announcement.
Phantom knocked on the door of the hut and then stepped back to wait.
Yiop came to the door with a disgruntled look upon his face, he snapped at Phantom that he already told everyone that visiting would have to wait and that any emergency would have to be taken care of by his apprentice.
Phantom was shocked by this attitude and took a step forward to get the attention of the normally calm and stoic healer.
Yiop finally looked up at the movement of Phantom, he shook his head in disbelief at seeing the male that he was told was killed a couple of weeks before.
"Phantom?? My brother?? No! I was told you were dead by a passing trader!" Yiop exclaimed in shock.
Phantom also is shocked to hear that.
"I don't know who would have told you that but obviously you were told that mistakenly.!" Phantom replies.
The two hug and slap each other on the back, "Now if you please introduce me to your new family?" Phantom smiles while asking.
Yiop smiles at his brother and lets him into his home. He turns around to face Phantom after closing and latching the door and pulls him into another room.
Yiop hugs his younger brother once again and bids him to sit down and talk before he introduces him to his female.
Yiop briefly explains about meeting Nixie and about her circumstances and tells him that he needs his help with guarding his new family.
Phantom is torn about the situation, he wants to return to Encto city and his new job but he also feels that he needs to protect his brother beast and the new family.
Yiop smiles and says "Before you decide I want you to meet and talk with my female Nixie, she may just want to take you as her next mate."
Phantom thinks that his mind is made up, but he still would like to meet the female who won his brother's heart.
He tells Yiop that he needs to clean up and pack his belongings and when he has done that he will return to meet them.
He almost forgets about the boar that he brought for Brennan, so he tells Yiop to bring Brennan outside while he goes to retrieve the boar.
Phantom leaves and returns quickly with the boar and leaves it by the door, he decides that the faster he cleans up and packs the faster he can return to meet the new tribe females and then he can leave back to Encto city.
He goes to the river and cleans himself up, he finishes and returns to his small hut on the far side of the village, he cleans up the hut and packs his belongings.
Phantom decides to tell the village chief about his decision to leave and his new position as a guard for the queen.
The chief expresses his joy at finding out that Phantom is alive but then he is saddened to hear that Phantom will be leaving.
The two talk for a couple of hours catching up on all the news of the world.
Finally when they part ways it has gotten dark and Phantom realizes he still has to meet his brother's female and newborn kits.
He returned to Yiop's hut on the opposite side of the village from the chief's hut is, he quietly knocks on the door and waits.
A beautiful female answers the door and Phantom's mouth drops open, she giggles and places her hand on his jaw and gently closes his mouth.
"Are you here to see my male Yiop? Do you need a healer?" She asks in a sweet musical voice.
He stand there transfixed and staring with a look of adoration on his face. He is Stunned.
He finally is able to look away at the sound of masculine laughter.
