"Another day another crystal"

Mumbled the Young healer in the large unruly village that sits on the other side of the mountains where the sheltered valley where Nixie lives.

The Healer is unaware of the valley and it's occupants, at least he was until this strange tugging, pulling feeling leads him directly to it.

Slater is unsure exactly where he finds himself as the pull had kept all of his attention on discovering what it meant and where it lead him to.

The crafty fox Beastman has never lost his way or come across the particular situation he finds himself in at that exact moment.

He is completely lost and had ended up traveling further than he meant to when he had left his home in order to procure more of his much needed plants for healing.

The pull seemed to grab his attention and he was so preoccupied with trying to figure out where it would lead him to, he ended up completely lost.

He wandered around until he found a small crack in a rock face.

He felt that the strange pull was stronger when he looked into the crack and he heard voices and smelled the scent of Beastmen and he stepped into the crack.

He was following the sounds and scents through a maze of cave tunnels.

He finally reached a cave that was brightly lit up. He poked his head into the opening and his mouth fell wide open in shock.

It wasn't another room or cave he saw, it was a valley with a good sized village smack dab in the middle.

The voices he had heard suddenly got quiet and he instantly pulled his head back into the cave.

He was startled when a resounding growl sounded out through the cave system around him.

A group of Beastmen popped out of all the surrounding caves on all sides of him and blocked any chance he had to escape.

He didn't know that there was another settlement so close to his village, he hadn't traveled that far from home.

He usually stayed close to his village and only traveled to and from the few villages that traded with his village and none of them were on this side of the mountains.

In all of his years he had never strayed overly far from his home village.

His home was nice enough that he never got the urge to explore, he was kept so busy that he didn't miss traveling.

He traveled all the time while growing up, his mother beast and all of her males including his father beast traveled all the time as merchants. They were ambushed by ferals as his family were passing in between two villages.

He lost his entire family that day, he had been upset about something silly and had wandered away to think.

By the time he heard the first scream he was well away from his family's camping spot on the traveled path bordering the woods he had ran into.

He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him back towards the shrill screams.

He was slowed down by tripping over tree roots and constantly having to pick himself up off of the ground.

All of that falling and running had him slowing down and stopping a lot. He had cut his knees and the palms of his hands from the repeated falls.

By the time he got to camp where his family was at, he heard laughing and he didn't recognize the voices.

He stopped just inside the edge of the woods right before the clearing his family was camping in.

The laughter didn't sound right to him and he became nervous.
