“Where will you gonna take me?” sabi ko sakanya habang nagmamaneho. dahil muntik panga namin makalimutan ang date dahil sa pinaggagagawa namin kanina sa loob ng kotse.
“you’ll see…” he said curtly.
tumango ako at tumingin sa bintana, the rays of the sun is penetrating the window, the reason why it was barely hitting me.
i slowly lift my hand and made it as a covered by the sunlight that was slightly hitting my sight.
pero laking gulat ko nang makitang may isang malaking kamay na humadlang sa aking paningin, pero huli na nang matanto kong may pinindot siya sa taas para matakpan ang bahagyang sinag na tumatama sa akin.
“sorry, you okay?” he softly asked.
“of course!”
“good.” he said and looked at the road again.
tumingin naman ako ulit sa bintana at pinagmasdan ang nadadaanang mga puno. this place is really unique. i admire it so much, the way it isn't giving as that rustic nor city vibes because it's a town that has just so many coconut trees, has simple yet elegant houses, and has many advertisments everywhere, etc... and it's also known as the most cleanest town of all towns.
“bored?” he suddenly asked.
agad akong tumingin sakanya at umiling.
“if you're bored, then you can just connect your phone to the stereo.” sabi niya sabay tingin saakin.
agad kaming nagkatitigan ng islang sandali, pero umiwas rin ako ng tingin at kinuha ang cellphone sa aking handbag. agad kong ini on ang kanyang dash stereo at agad ikinonekta sa aking cellphone.
and when I'm already done, i tapped to play my favorite song which is the ‘tonight’ by FM static.
i shut my eyes peacefully, feeling the lyrics and the rhythm of it. i slowly leaned the back of my head to my seat as i tightly shut my eyes.
i continued to close my eyes because i can sense that he doesn't saying anything, even his breath is now couldn't hear.
“tonight I've fallen and i can't get up~” the chorus played.
“i need your loving hands to come and pick me up~” the lyrics continued.
and while it was playing, i slowly open my shutted eyes, i looked at the man beside me and my eyes instantly met his deep set eyes who's already looking at me. and the way his eyes gazes me send me shiver down my spine.
“tonight I've fallen and i can't get up~” the chorus played again.
my face heated at his intense gaze, so i immediately looked away and looked at the window instead.
“are you fond of music?” he asked out of nowhere.
“um, a little?" i answered.
he chuckled and then looked at me again.
“you do have a nice voice.” he said while still looking at me.
“liar, bulero!” i spat.
“i’m not. why do you always accuses me of that.”
“tsk”
tumawa ulit siya at nagpatuloy sa pagmamaneho, hanggang sa matanaw kona ang lugar kung saan niya ako dadalhin!
“wow! it's this real?!” i asked using my excited voice.
“yeah, i promise this to her and to myself that I'll take a step inside that place again with you by my side.” he leisurely said.
