Meeting the one

Chapter 14

“bruce…” tawag ko habang nakaupo kami sa isang bench na malapit lang sa tanaw naming ma asul asul na dagat sa centennial park, and yeah he took me here on this place, a one of his favorite place here in aracoza. a place that was new to my sight.

“hmmm…” lumingon siya sa akin habang nakaakbay saakin.

“since when did you knew that you wanted to be a lawyer?”

He looked at me for a while and then turned to look at the scenery in our front again, he sigh heavily for a moment before he answered.

“i don't know how to tell you this but…” he showed me his contemplated face but eventually sighed and looked at me intently.

“i really don't like it… to be a lawyer…” he slowly confessed, he looked away now looking at the ocean.

What! w-what did he meant by that?

“w-what…” I whispered shocked.

He smiled bitterly still looking at the ocean.

“do you know what was my dream before you?” he asked now looking at me smiling but you can smell the dripping bitterness on it.

I shook my head couldn't afford to speak up after his heavy confession.

“police…I've been dreaming of being a police someday since i was a child, but i know my fate is already written which is for me to be a lawyer, na kahit anong gawin ko, alam kong sa abogado parin ang bagsak ko.” he smiled bitterly.

Kahit hindi niya man aminin parang alam ko na kung ano ang dahilan, but i really do hope that I'm just wrong.

“But still, why you didn't pursue it when you're already a lawyer?”

Napailing lang siya at bumuntong hininga.

“wala rin namang silbi pa…”

“anong wala! bat hindi mo kaya i try na i pursue?but only this time I'm now the one who will support you and the one that will witness your accomplished for this journey.” pamimilit ko.

“hmm…don't you want that? I will be the one that will support and will cheer you to fulfill your long time dream.” dagdag ko.

I really really wanted to see him pursuing his supposed dream, and i want to see him fulfilling that dream but with me. gusto kong makamit niya yon ng kasama ako.

Tiningnan niya ako ng maigi bago tinanggal ang nakaakbay niyang kamay sa akin at hinawakan ang aking kamay gamit ang kanyang dalawang kamay, hinalikan niya yon ng marahan…

“you really makes me fall deep and deeper with you evey each day huh.” he narrow his brows and smirked mischievously.

My  heart pounded so fast at his sudden boldness move again.

“my life must be so boring without you.” he uttered slowly while looking at me with his deep set eyes.

“payag kana ba sa gusto ko?” lihis ko sa usapan.

“but before i could accept your offer, i would like to tell you that i already graduated the crim course but without anyone knowing, and you're the only one special person who did know about it.” he admit.

Oh. so, he already finished his course pala?

“huh, so bat di ka nag take ng board?”

“pag iisipan kopa yan…” sagot niya.

Tumango lang ako at sumandal sa balikat niya habang nakatingin sa karagatan. at habang nakatingin sa kawalan ay napagtanto kong ang dami ko palang hindi nalalaman tungkol sakanya base sa mga nalaman ko ngayong araw.
