The mutant let out a yawn, stretching his arms and legs out. He sleepily stood up from his bed, scratching his carapace shell. Still tired from yesterday, the mutant walked over to his clothes. Noticing he still had his hoodie on, the mutant took it off for a check. The holes from the spikes was going to need a repair. The mutant shook his head, shrugging it off. He could create some spikes and it would fit in it. But that would ruin his disguise. The mutant glanced around in his small confined space. The water tower didn't really provide a ton of space but it was a good spot to hide in.
Sighing out of defeat, the mutant slipped the hoodie back on. He bent over to grab his fox mask and noticed it was scratched and slightly cracked. He was going to need a new one. Groaning, the mutant adjusted the mask to his face. He was going to have to avoid battle if he didn't want his disguise ruined but that was possibly impossible. The mutant dusted his legs and turned to crouch down. Jumping off, the mutant grabbed onto the edge of the water tower. Pushing himself up, the mutant dropped down and landed onto the rooftop.
The sun was still rising. The cold air hit his small exposed spots, making him shiver. Ignoring the cold, the mutant leaped to a another building. Looking down from the edge, the city seemed abandoned. Their fancy lights were out. There were cars and vehicles everywhere. And there was barely any people outside. It looked like a small place where the humans lived rather than the big ones, he observed. What a perfect time to go out! The mutant silently dug his claws into the walls of the building. Slowly crawling down the building, the mutant heard a squawk. Startled by the loud noise, the mutant looked over to the white bird perched on a railing besides him.
It was pretty small so the mutant deemed it harmless. Ignoring the bird, he continued to crawl down as the bird watched him go. The mutant jumped down the last few feet, landing down with a thud. Standing up, the mutant glanced around for any witnesses. There was no one watching him. The mutant held his chin as he thought. Where did he find that small shop again? He needed a new mask as soon as he can get one. He'll just snatch a another mask and no one would notice.
He couldn't remember the exact location but he could recall some of the surroundings. Walking, the mutant decided to hang around for a bit and observe. He could definitely try to map out the city so get familiar with the place. He didn't have any paper or tools to write something down but that was okay. He has a good memory.
The mutant walked down the sidewalks. There wasn't really much to see. He observed the houses as he passed by them, each of them having a different but a similar appearance. The mutant shook his head. He wanted to focus on more important stuff right now. He figured he should go to the big city place where these people loved to go. It was a better chance to look for a new mask too. The mutant nodded in agreement. He glanced around before jumping back onto the building and climbing up.
It would probably be best to go on rooftops rather than down there. While he did have a disguise, it wasn't really best for blending in with the people and he doesn't really do well with crowds. The mutant gave one last look at the sun. The sun was rising fast. He needed to go if he wanted to go out into the city without too many people. The mutant let out a sigh.
Please don't let this day go terribly.
