Chapter 9

Y/N POV

I was barely able to get any work done today. Between thinking of what Angel said and then how Alastor acted, my mind was all over the place. Angel came by periodically throughout my shift to tease me and also to try and see how I felt about the whole situation.

Alastor came by for our lunch as usual. He had made food for the both of us again. He really was a sweetheart to me, so maybe he did feel something different for me. But he was nice to Charlie as well, so it left me utterly confused. We made decent conversation, as I had tried my damndest to act like everything was normal.

Currently though, I was laying face first on my bed while Angel talked to me. "Look toots, it isn't so bad! If he does like ya in a more romantic way then there's no problem! How do you think you feel for him?" I flopped my head to the side to face him, my ears falling back.

"I don't know Angie. I mean he's really sweet, he cooks lunches for me, and we have a good connection... I guess he is really handsome, and that weird creepy smile of his has been looking a little more charming recently." Without noticing, my tail had started to wag. I had only noticed when Angel started to laugh and point me. When I looked back, there it was. Swaying side to side quickly. I picked up a pillow from beside me and sat up, throwing it at him, "shut up Angel! Don't laugh!"

The pillow made contact with his head, causing him to fall back. He wiped a tear from his eye as he got up and the pillow fell of him. "I ain't sorry for laughin' toots. But, at least we know how you feel about him! Now, let's get Charlie, Vags, and Niff in here and have a girl's night!" He texted Charlie, knowing she likely had her phone on her, telling her to bring Vaggie and Niffty to my room. It only took around ten minutes until there was a very excited knock at my door.

As time passed, the five of us had all been talking, laughing, spilling gossip, watching romcoms, and painting each other's nails. Somehow as time passed, it evolved into a full on concert. Me and Angel were standing on my bed with a remote and a hairbrush in our hands as we sang down to the other three, who were also singing along. The song playing previously had just ended and we all laughed between songs. The second the next song started, Angel and I shot looks to each other immediately.

We were about to kill this shit.

Alastor POV

I had been searching for Y/N all over the hotel. She had seemed a bit off today. She had a lot more energy, which was absolutely wonderful as it meant she had accepted my offerings from last night. Though after she had fixed my bow tie earlier that day, she seemed very deep in thought for the rest of the day. I simply wanted to make sure everything was alright.

I had even picked up Husk and asked him to help me search for her. We had just checked the hotel's garden and were heading inside when we heard very loud music. "Boss, did you ever think of checking her room?" I shot Husk a glare and sent both of us through the shadows to appear in front of her room. As I was about to knock, I heard the lyrics being sung behind the door.

Angel and I took to the lead vocals while Vaggie and Charlie took backup. Niffty had become more interested in cleaning up the mess we had all been making in my room so she wasn't singing along.

Angel excitedly took the first verse of the chorus, swaying his hips as he began to sing.

"'Cause I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it
Sex in the air, I don't care, I love the smell of it
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But chains and whips excite me!"

He smiled over to me to give me full lead of the next. To which I smiled back at him and happily moved my hips around, mocking his own movements from before, making the three holler and cheer. I closed my eyes and smiled as I prepared to belt out the lyrics while attempting to stay in key. Unfortunately, none of us had heard the door to my room open.

The moment I opened my eyes my ears flattened against my head and my face went bright red with embarrassment. My actions alerted the others to look at the door. Standing there was a very flustered looking Husk and Alastor. Husk's cheeks and the tips of his ears were a bright red. So much so that it looked similar to the red of Alastor's hair.

On the other hand, Alastor's entire face was a shade of bright red. His ears were pinned back, one of his eyes twitching slightly, and his mouth was in the form of a smile, yet his mouth was opened slightly hat looked like shock. While Husker's eyes were focused on Angel, Alastor's eyes were looking straight at me.

Angel and I looked at each other, at first mortified. But then he started to laugh which made me blush further. 'Great... that is definitely not something I wanted him to see...'

Vaggie had run to the phone and stopped the music that was playing. She then grabbed Charlie's hand and much to her protests, rushed past Husk and Alastor. Angel and I looked back at the two men standing in my doorway. The second I made eye contact with Alastor again, his cheeks darkened and he slipped himself into the shadows.

Angel got off of my bed and left with Husk and Niffty left about immediately after, closing the door after her. I fell back into my bed and held a pillow over my face, screaming into it with all I had. 'This is the most embarrassing day of my fucking afterlife.'
