The minister's home is not anywhere near. They had to take the cars to an airport, and then take a private plane to who knows where. These were all rather new to Kiaria. She never saw an airport before. She also never took a plane before; more particularly, a private plane. Kiaria felt like a true country bumpkin who didn't know anything at all.
Thankfully, she didn't have motion sickness. Otherwise, it would have been hell for her.
She was surprised when the plane landed at this large runway which was also linked to a home. "This is where you will be staying from now onwards."
Kiaria frowned. This place was huge and she hadn't even entered the house yet. It is so big that it is like an estate. She gets shown where her room is, and she sits down in awe. This is what she envisions an ideal room to be like. She could have never earned it in her lifetime, perhaps. The room was Scandinavian-inspired, with decorations and miscellaneous items that blended well with the theme. How did they know her food preferences? The staff brought her around to see other areas of the estate, such as the garden, the gym, a playroom, a movie studio, and back to her room, requesting that Kiaria stay in her room until dinner time in case she got lost.
Kiaria gets onto her bed and lies on it. The bed was so incredibly soft and comfortable. She didn't know that high-quality beds could feel so different from normal beds.
So this is what having money is like, Kiaria thinks to herself. She takes out her phone and texts the group chat: I have reached the minister's house, don't worry, I'm safe and sound.
She puts her phone away and instinctively closes her eyes.
I'm going to wake up in 10-15 minutes. she says to herself. Then she drifts away into a sweet slumber for the afternoon.
Kiaria wakes up to the minister sitting in her room, while still looking through his reports. She sits up, slightly fazed and also dazed at the same time. Then she looked at her watch time and realised that she had overslept by 2 hours.
"Oh no. Sorry. I overslept."
"It's okay. I was doing work anyway. You can come out when you're ready. I'll wait for you outside your room."
Then Kiaria suddenly understands her situation. This foreign man had entered her room without her permission. It was fine when her guardians entered her room and chilled there as they had been living in the same household for a long time, but for a stranger to do that? It is weird.
She comes out of her bed and he walks her down to an extravagant-looking dinner room with warm food laid for them. "I would appreciate it if you don't enter my room just like this."
"Oh?"
"We don't know each other enough for you to barge into my room. Mind you, what if I was changing my clothes or doing something naughty?"
Jax sneers slightly and smiles.
"Don't worry, I'm not into prepubescent-looking girls. But point taken, I'll knock on your door next time or get a female maid to come in if needed."
"You!-okay. Thank you."
She saw the mouth-watery food that had what she liked. Mushroom soup with bread crumbs, peas, and minced meat with chocolate milk. Not everyone liked such food...but Jax loved the combination. She dipped her food into her mouth without hesitation and without checking whether they were poisoned like her guardians had advised her to check. "How did you know my food and interior design preferences?"
"Magic." She frowns.
"Hey, get serious."
"I heard that you like to fill out random questionnaires in exchange for vouchers."
"!you were spying on me?"
"I was looking over you for some time. Got to make sure you're safe."
"So what can I do for you? Till now, I don't even know why you would take the effort to get me to come over."
"Just like what you said. For Your big brains."
"Ugh seriously. You don't even bother to be serious. That's ironic for a serious man."
Jax smiles. Kiaria was like a quirky and sassy young person. His reports stated that she was typically serious. This might be her natural self out of the stress and obligations that she had put on herself.
He would enjoy this while it lasted.
