Kiaria was feeling well the following Monday and hence returned to work.
Once again, she conveyed many apologies for not responding to her guardians after a long time and explained that she had awakened and she was a whisperer. This time, Cassie personally calls her to check how is she doing, alongside all the questions that he wasn't able to ask previously. Even though Helena had conveyed all this information to Cassie, he was still not assured until he spoke to Kiaria personally.
He asked Kiaria multiple times where the minister had made a move on her while calling him names like a b*stard, a*shole etc which Kiaria found amusing. She wonders if Cassie remembers the three of them have been intertwined in this cursed relationship since the very start.
She keeps reassuring him that nothing has happened and nothing will happen in the future. Also, Kiaria shares, in case you didn't read the group chat carefully, I awakened.
That's great, Cassie replies in a rather wary manner.
"Do you know what's your rating so far?"
Kiaria pauses and claims that she's a B-.
"That's a good thing," Cassie comments.
"Why?"
"If you were highly valued, the government wouldn't let you go."
So maybe that's why the minister lied, Kiaria thinks to herself.
Kiaria rushes towards the end of the call and informs him that she's reaching her workplace soon so the call has to end.
Then, she finally enters her office and sits down next to her department. Her supervisor and her other colleagues were surprised to see her and asked how she was. This was a change in their behaviour. The supervisor initially heard that she was down with the virus, but afterwards, the minister's secretary gave the supervisor a call to excuse Kiaria from all work until she was feeling better. Then, she realised that Kiaria wasn't just a nepo-baby. She might just be the greatest nepo-baby of all time - she has associations with the well-revered minister. Kiaria was taken aback by their big and curious eyes and their change in attitude, but figured it was related to the minister. She calmly shared that she was unwell because of awakening.
More murmurs occur across the office. They wanted to know what sort of ability she had. More precisely, they were sizing her up to see whether she was a physical threat to them. Kiaria shares that she's a whisperer, no biggie. She can communicate with plants.
A colleague excitedly brings her potted plant up and asks Kiaria what her plant is saying.
Kiaria connects with the plant and asks how is it so far.
<My owner is annoying! She wouldn't stop typing loudly on her buttons. The only thing good that she has done so far is to get a gentle spray that spills water out which makes it feel refreshed during intervals.>
Kiaria assumed the buttons refer to the desktop set.
"Your plant says that she likes the gentle spray you have been using to give her water."
Her colleague grins from ear to ear, yapping about where she bought this product from. Murmurings continue for a while before the conversation dies off and everyone is back to doing their work. Kiaria can tell that wants to understand a bit more about her relationship with the minister but doesn't want to bring it up yet.
Her supervisor passes her work and Kiaria gets to know that they're finishing up soon on all those tagged possessors. (It's time to bring up the case of non-tagged possessors), Kiaria thinks to herself.
