• SPACE SONG - BEACH HOUSE

I stirred awake at the beeping noise, making my ears ring, and my head ache. My eyes drifted open, but my vision wasn't exactly the best.
"Mandy?"
"Fuck," I whispered, slowly sitting up and groaning at the weakness lingering in my body. I looked up at Seb, who had an unreadable expression. I immediately felt a wave of guilt wash over me, seeing the disappointment sink into his face.
"It was an accident." I said quietly. "I was just.."
"An accident? They had to pump your fucking stomach, you were barely even alive, Mandy! You could have died!" He snapped, his eyes glossy and his fists clenched.
It was rare to see Seb cry, because he hadn't since our dad was locked away. Now that he's not, I guess he's broken that streak.
I kept silent, not wanting to upset him any further before he continued. "I want you to go to rehab. Get some fucking help or something."
"What? Over some fucking drug accident? Do you know how many times I've dragged you inside and out of the cold so you didn't die?!" I snapped back, my voice not even close to being as raised as his. Mine was strained, and raspy to the point where it was a croaky whisper.
"Since you're gonna end up exactly like mum, with a bunch of kids you can't even care for by the time you're twenty, do it for me, do it for yourself, do it for your stupid fucking boyfriend, I don't care. Just do it." He spoke, stepping back and shaking his head with a silent mutter in Greek before he left.
I shifted, my eyebrows furrowed in anger, and frustration.

I watched Seb leave, my eyes focused on him before they flickered to the door. I pushed it open, looking over to Mandy.
"Tom," she mumbled, her voice barely audible. I just stared at her quietly, seeing the anger that her brother had on his face, I immediately knew what happened.
"You overdosed."
"It was stupid, I was.. just, so fucked up, and I wasn't thinking, I--"
"Did I make you like this? Am I the reason you smoke now? the reason you drink and do drugs?" I spoke, my face hardened. "You don't get to do them just because I do, do you understand?! You are better than this, and even your brother knows that!" I said, my voice full of pressure.
"You don't understand."
"I don't understand?" I said. "I don't understand, Mandy? Oh, man, I understand better than anybody. You're just too fucking selfish to see that." I breathed, my eyebrows furrowed.
She looked to the side before I grabbed her shoulders, shaking her. "I care about you, and you need some fucking help, alright?!"
"Fuck you, I'm not getting help! I don't need it!" She snapped, panting heavily. "Just get the fuck out of my life!" Mandy pushed me, her eyes glazed over with the pressure.
"I don't want you to come to me sobbing when you're fucked out and high, just so we can fuck again and end up in the same place." I said, stepping back before adding on. "You're destroying yourself and you don't even know your own worth yet. Fuck me, Mandy.. and I thought you wouldn't end up like everybody else in this shithole." I muttered under my breath, walking out and closing the door behind me.
