"Fuck!!" The Doctor threw their clipboard across the room.
The excessive amount of chemicals had overloaded all their equipment and it was unclear if Miss Pham had survived.
"Sakura!!" Y/n kept trying to connect with Miyawaki to see if she had any signs of life inside of VRU.
Sakura didn't respond.
She was angry.
Y/n was acting as if Hanni's life mattered so much. Like The Doctor hadn't just tried to drive her crazy and kill her inside of VRU just a few months prior.
Y/n had lost the objective.
It wasn't about exposing VRU anymore. It wasn't about revenge anymore. It was about getting this stupid kid the help she desperately needed.
Sakura didn't like that.
It's not that Sakura hated Hanni as a person. She just hated the way Hanni was used as a pawn. The way Hanni refused to look at things for what they were. She hated that The Doctor tried so hard with Hanni...
While Y/n had completely given up on Sakura's recovery.
"Miyawaki!!" Y/n screamed over their communication system.
"What?" Sakura finally answered.
It was a cold tone.
A dead tone.
"I have brain activity but no responsive behavior. Can you confirm any signs of VRU usage on your end?" The Doctor held up hope.
Sakura thought about it for a second...
And decided not to tell The Doctor that Hanni was okay inside of VRU.
"Don't know. Can't get a signal to her chip," Miyawaki gave a blank excuse.
"Damn it!" Y/n yanked their chip off and threw it across the room.
This wouldn't do.
- Sakura POV -
I was starting to go into withdrawals. My hands were shaking and my brain was starting to feel mushy. I knew I could up my chemical intakes, but I didn't want that. I wanted to be completely fine. I didn't want to depend on VRU chemicals anymore.
"This is all your fault," I whispered to myself as I looked over at the a High School picture of me and Y/n.
If I hadn't gone in to help Y/n inside of the regular VRU servers then none of this would've happened. I wouldn't feel so crappy. I wouldn't be craving the excessiveness and convince of VRU.
"Miyawaki, I'm going in to the main VRU server. Can you modify my chip's signal to block chemical receptors?" Y/n suddenly messaged.
I groaned in annoyance.
"This fucker is going to kill themselves like," I mumbled to myself. Messaging back, "I already did that. Anymore would be humanly unsafe. You could lose control of your muscles or have a heart attack. I've restricted enough for VRU."
"I don't care. I'm going into the main VRU server. Blocking any chemicals is better than getting stuck in there," Y/n messaged.
I rolled my eyes and did I was told.
Y/n was reckless at times, very reckless, but they knew the dangers of VRU. They knew that any taste of those chemicals would create a dangerous dependency.
