Mafe saw me sipping my cup of tea on the counter. Lost in my thoughts, as always.

"You know you can always talk to me."

She said, tucking my hair behind my ear.

I hugged my baby sister.

"I know."

I smiled and kissed her.

"So,"

She laughed.

"Oh, no. I know that look. Mafe, stop."

This sibling of mine really knows how to put me in a hot seat.

"What?"

She threw her hands up in the air.

"Okay," I said, taking a sip of my tea again.

"I was with Ella last night," I began.

"Woah," she scoffed.

"You're on a first name basis now? Great."

She's teasing me again.

"Let's do the math," she added.

Still maliciously looking at me.

"You were with Doc De Jesus last night, and you two fought, so she happened to leave bruises all over you. Correct?"

Mafe's really teasing me, so I smashed her arm. She just laughed at me and started looking at me with those eyes again.

"I am never going to talk to you again. Never."

I said, laughing my ass off. I rolled my eyes at her, and she just shrugged at me.

"Ella gave me the best night of my life," I opened.

Her eyes immediately widened, and she's trying to contain her laughter.

"You already turned eighteen, right?"

I asked her, laughing.

"Well, as you know, Ate Ly already told you I was chugging a bottle of booze last night all because of this unrequited love I share with Ella."

Fuck, my sister's all ears.

"So I was alone, drowning myself in liquor, when Ella suddenly appeared and snatched the bottle from me. She's furious with me doing what I was doing. I didn't know how to react when she suddenly grabbed me into one of the rooms in there. For a moment, I was a bit mad, too. I mean, how the hell could she just appear and disappear in my life whenever she wants, right?"

My sister nodded in approval.

"I was about to leave her when she suddenly pulled me and kissed me as if her life depended on it."

Mafe stood up, almost rejoicing. I just laughed at her reaction.

"And then one thing led to another; I just woke up alone the next day."

I frowned.

"Bummer," she said.

"Well, at least she gave you the best night of your life."

She's teasing me again.

"It's just strange. How it felt so right with her, but it felt so wrong just with kissing Deanna."

I wondered.

"Well, people always do stupid things when they're in love."

Mafe answered.

"Touché."

I sighed.

"I don't know what we are, Mafs. One day she's going to file a restraining order against me, then fuck me so hard the next."

I covered my mouth with what I just said and hugged Mafe.

"Fuck, why did I say that?"

We both laughed.

"Well, at least you're happy. Although your girl is a bit of a fan of Cinderella, she disappears at midnight."

I smashed her arms again.

"What are you going to do now?"

She spoke in a serious tone.

"I don't know. Maybe just wait for the next turn of things? I can't be running after Ella forever. The more I chase, the less I keep up with her. Maybe I'll just let her be for now. Let her figure things out for herself as I figure things out myself, too."

I sighed again.

"Maybe you're right about that."

She pats my shoulder.

"I'm just here for you, okay? Always."

She then pulled me into an embrace again.
