Everything felt surreal. I can't believe I'm walking down the aisle again with the only person I want to spend my everydays with.
I'm so lucky; it wasn't too late for our love to flourish.
My dad never made a mistake the first time she gave me to Ella, so here we are now. Here I am now, choosing her with every heartbeat.
"I vow to give you forever in this lifetime and another if there is one. To weather every storm with you and to always call you my home, even in death, our love will live on."
Ella said, brushing my face.
"And I vow to cherish you in every lifetime. To always stay by your side because when all else fails, our love will be enough."
I vowed while weeping in happiness.
"I am not squandering this second chance to be with you, love."
I whispered to Ella.
"Neither do I, Mrs. De Jesus."
She kissed me again in front of our family and friends.
We are now at our reception, warmly thanking all the regards being given to us. I don't ever want to let go of Ella's hand.
I can't help but stare at Ella's mesmerizing beauty. How could I possibly miss this the first time around?
I was busy getting lost in Ella's eyes when we heard glasses clanking.
Well, if it's not Ate Aly and her always dramatic entrances.
"First of all, congratulations to our not-so-new newlyweds."
She paused at the thundering laughter from all our guests.
"No offense, loves."
She said this, looking at us.
"The night is still young and we still can't get enough of your overflowing sweetness."
Ate Ly continued.
The crowd went cheering for her.
"So if you mind, may we call on Jella to step forward to give us a speech about this wonderful love story of yours?"
The crowd went wild again.
Ate Den, who's Ate Aly's rumored girlfriend, stepped in and stole the mic.
"They're not Jella. They're Elma!"
She protested, raising the mic.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Elma De Jesus!"
Ate Den said it out loud, trying to hype our guests even more.
Ella held out her arm to help me up, and I decided to speak.
"So, as we all know, especially our family and our very close friends, our story wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. It took so much fear, courage, grief, pain, and loss before we eventually reached this day. The day was never expected to happen at all. I had to lose my memory, and we both had to lose each other to realize that we are never better off without each other. So, to Ella, who never failed to protect me, even if it meant shattering her own heart, we're in this together now. You won't ever have to go through anything alone because I promise to be with you, to choose, to fight for you to make sure that I'm still the one holding your hand at the end of the day."
