Ch 106:
(The Best Actor Award······.)
(Congratulations to Yoo Yeonseo from "The Demon.")
At the sound of the presenter's voice, Yeonseo rose from his seat and confidently walked onto the stage. The actors from "The Demon" greeted him with a standing ovation, while the audience continued to cheer enthusiastically.
"Are we watching that again?"
"Yes, I couldn't watch it last night, so I'm catching up."
Park Geumju sighed as she watched her husband, who proudly raised his cheekbones, then sat down on the couch.
"Firstly, it was an honor to have our 'The Demon' team together. Hajun, Mina, and······."
His neatly swept-back hair accentuated his handsome face even more. Interestingly, whenever he was receiving an award, the camera seemed to focus solely on Yeonseo, ignoring the audience or other actors.
"And to my fans who always support me, my agency colleagues, and my assistants, thank you······."
He conveyed her gratitude calmly, without any elaborate acceptance speech.
"And finally, um······ my family. Thank you to my parents, my brother, and my grandfather."
"Ah······ I didn't know that brat would remember his grandfather."
Actually, Yeonseo included gratitude towards his agency colleagues and family out of courtesy, but President Yu was pleasantly surprised that he even mentioned him.
"If you were so happy about it, why didn't you just let him do what he wanted?"
"Well, back then, he didn't have any talent. It's better to inherit a well-established company than to struggle while facing criticism. Besides, he's not stupid."
"Heeseo, isn't it because of that child?"
President Yu turned his gaze from the TV to his wife. It was the first time Park Geumju had mentioned Heeseo since the accident. She had finally overcome her long depression, but there was still a lingering discomfort in his heart, all because of the name Heeseo.
"Yes, that bothered me the most."
Whenever he heard Heeseo's name, he remembered his grandson who used to have seizures. So he intervened when he wanted to become an idol, but now he was pursuing acting, following Heeseo's path, which didn't sit well with him.
Even though he tried to prevent him from stepping into the entertainment industry altogether, his stubbornness was extraordinary. He gave up because he couldn't bear the thought of not seeing his grandson for the rest of his life. Still, he occasionally kept an eye on him but didn't actively intervene.
As his grandson finished his acceptance speech and returned to his seat among the actors, President Yu switched the channel. The 12 o'clock news was on.
"At 9 a.m. today, JSENM held an extraordinary shareholders' meeting and passed a resolution to appoint actor Yoo Yeonseo as an internal director of JSENM, the son of Chairman Choi Yujin of JSENM. There is speculation in the business community that this is not a succession plan but a strategic move to prepare for the future."
The screen showed Choi Yujin, the chairman of the shareholders' meeting, and then displayed footage of the recent drama, movies, and commercials featuring Yeonseo.
"But now, well, since the child likes it so much, I should give in."
Just then, a brief clip of a child laughing appeared on "Welcome to the Guest House." Park Geumju fixed her gaze on the screen and spoke.
