Ch 118:
"Who is it? Handsome."
"Are you going to the CEO's office?"
A sharply dressed man with an exceptional presence knocked on the door of the CEO's office. The trainees' attention turned to Im Seung-hyun's back. A feeble voice from inside responded, inviting him in.
"You're the one who called?"
"Yes."
"Um... just tidy up and have a seat. We're a small company... would you like some coffee?"
"No, thank you."
Im Seung-hyun cleared a spot and sat down before extending his business card. It wasn't a business card from Joo Sung Agency; it simply had basic contact information on a white background.
"So, what brought you here?"
The man sitting opposite him stroked his beard. There was even a makeshift bed in the corner, suggesting they might also handle lodging here.
Im Seung-hyun tossed out the questions his younger brother wanted to know about.
"Twinkle... What a nostalgic name..."
The man, momentarily lost in thought, chuckled at Im Seung-hyun's intimidating gaze and cleared his throat.
"It's been almost 20 years, so I don't remember much."
"Any clue would be helpful. Any memorable incidents?"
"Well..."
The man, leaning back in his chair lost in thought, suddenly stopped and looked at Im Seung-hyun.
"Oh, there was one absolutely crazy guy."
"A stalker?"
"Yes. Nowadays, they're trying to enact stalker punishment laws, but back then... there wasn't much awareness about stalkers. People thought it was a virtue for celebrities to endure, but... it was no joke."
Im Seung-hyun listened quietly to the man's somewhat rambling recollection of events from so long ago.
"All sorts of people were involved. There was even a guy who tried to break into the kids' dorm by tearing off the window grille, and another who would wait in front of the dorm and chase after them when they got out of the car."
"That sounds serious."
"Yes, but among them, there was one real troublemaker."
The man furrowed his brow as if struggling to remember.
"That... guy sent threatening phone calls, saying not to let the company send his wife to work anymore, and even sent a forged marriage certificate claiming he had married her."
"Wow..."
"Initially, we thought he was just a common delusional patient. Since he only terrorized the company. But... then..."
Im Seung-hyun unfolded his arms and focused on the man's words.
"It was probably around the time of 'Under the Camphor Tree.' That guy tried to approach Hee-seo while working as an extra."
"What did he do when he approached her?"
"It seemed like he wanted to harass her, but if it hadn't been for the manager at the time, there could have been a big incident."
Luckily, it didn't escalate further. That was a relief.
The man continued, describing how the stalker, who had delusionally believed he was married to Im Hee-seo, had caused a scene at the company and Twinkle's dormitory as soon as the news of her marriage to Yu Geon-min was announced. It even led to bloodshed.
