Ch 249:
The people who had filled the seats began to leave one by one. In the now-empty auditorium, only the event staff remained, tidying up.
In the meantime, Yoo Yeon-seo sat on the stage, looking up at the dome ceiling of the venue. Could it be that the energy of the audience had transferred to him? Even though he was still buzzing, the absence of people felt somewhat empty.
"Thank you, everyone for your hard work."
Suddenly standing up, Yoo Yeon-seo bowed his upper body to the event staff surrounding him to express his gratitude. The people cheered and smiled in response. Rumor had it that the event where Yoo Yeon-seo participated paid well and treated its staff nicely, attracting many applicants for the event crew.
"Manager, are you ready?"
"Here they come!"
Thanks to that, there was nothing uncomfortable while preparing for the event. The cheering crowd pointed toward the back of Yoo Yeon-seo.
Seeing Lee Tae-gyeom and Lim Seung-hyun carefully approaching with a cake, Yoo Yeon-seo chuckled. It made sense why she hadn't seen them—they were preparing this.
"Happy birthday!"
Following Lee Tae-gyeom was a representative from Halo Media and Director Park. People sang a loud birthday song, and with smiling faces, they waited for Yoo Yeon-seo to blow out the candles.
"Oh, what's this?"
"What do you mean, what is it? It's a birthday celebration."
Lee Tae-gyeom nonchalantly held out the cake. It wasn't just any cake from a bakery; it was custom-made. Seeing the cute writing that said, "Happy birthday, Yeon-seo," made it clear it was meant for one person only... Yoo Yeon-seo looked at the representative. Only that person would go to such lengths for something so thoughtful.
"Are you not going to blow it out? Everyone's waiting."
Realizing what was happening, Yoo Yeon-seo blew out the candles in one breath. Cheers and applause erupted again. Lim Seung-hyun and Director Park popped confetti, and the representative gently tapped his back to avoid hurting him.
"Thank you."
"If you're going to the after-party, you can go right away! You know the place, right?"
Lee Tae-gyeom took care of cleaning up the site. Even though it was past midnight, the staff still looked lively.
"You're going too, right?"
"...I guess I have to."
As the main character, he couldn't not go. Yoo Yeon-seo was the last to leave the venue. He suddenly turned back.
The waves of audience cheering sticks looked like a welcoming sight before they faded away. It was fun. A bit disappointing too... With a faint smile, he closed the door. They could always do it again next time. There was plenty of time now.
He moved to a restaurant near the venue. Sitting at the center of the table, Yoo Yeon-seo only drank water and didn't eat anything. People around her asked if he was okay from the stage work and urged him to eat something, but he shook his head slightly. It was better not to eat, as he'd probably end up throwing it all up soon anyway.
"Hey, take this."
"What's this big one?"
He opened the birthday gift presented by the representative. Judging by its size, he had expected it to be a painting, but the quality of the artwork was quite impressive.
