𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓

Finn took a breath as he knocked on Evie's dorm door. He waited a few seconds until the door opened and revealed a stressed looking Evie. "Finn? What are you doing here?" The girl asked surprised. Finn walked into the room "look, Evie. I'm sorry for how I've been acting and—" Finn looked around and at Evie's outfit noticing she wasn't in her normal clothes like she'd usually be.

"Wait, what's going on?" He questioned curiously. Evie let out a sigh knowing there was no lying to Finn, he knew her too well over the past few months to know when she was lying.

"Mal's going back to the Isle. We're going back to bring her back here" Finn was confused. Mal had gone back to the Isle? And who else was going?. "We as in you, Jay and Carlos?" Evie nodded "and Ben" Ben was going to the Isle? This must be serious if Ben was going to the Isle too.

"Then I'm coming too" Evie shook her head right away "no, it's not safe there. I can't risk you getting hurt" Finn laughed "Evie, you said it yourself before. You guys would think I'm from the Isle if I wasn't living here in Auradon" he told the girl who remembered the conversation they'd had before about that but this was different.

"That's different, Finn. The Isle is far more dangerous than what it looks and seems. You could get hurt and I'm not risking that" the boy scoffed "and I'm not going to risk you getting hurt. If I'm there then I can try to keep you safe!" Evie took a step towards the boy and put the palm of her hand on his cheek without even thinking.

"I'll be fine. I lived there remember?" Finn automatically leaned into the girls touch without even thinking himself. "It doesn't make a difference. Like you said, it's still dangerous" Evie smiled a little at how caring the boy was being towards her. It was everything she wanted in a boy but she didn't look at Finn that way. They were strictly just friends.

"Let this be my way of making it up to you. I've been a complete ass these past couple of months and have wasted the only time we get by just talking about Gwen. Let me make it up to you by coming along" Evie let out a sigh. She couldn't risk the boy getting hurt. She just couldn't.

"Finn...there's different ways to make it up to me but this is isn't one of them. I'm sorry but I can't let you come. I'll be back before you even realise that I'm gone" Finn knew Evie was right and he desperately wanted to go and be there for her but he was arguing a battle he'd never win.

"Okay" he finally nodded after a couple seconds of silence. Without thinking he put on of his hands over the one Evie had on his cheek. "Promise me you'll come back safely" Evie nodded "I promise". Finn gave the girl a small smile but they didn't move from their spot.

Whatever it was...it was keeping them there together. Call it fear. The fear that Evie might not come back safely. They didn't know.

"I mean, should I have just went anyways? I'm supposed to be a man and I just backed down like a baby" Finn said as he at on Carlos' bed with Dude.

"You've got it bad" Dude said to the boy who looked at him confused. "You like Evie" Finn chuckled at that "of course I like her. She's my best friend" he stated, oblivious to what Dude actually meant. "No! You like like Evie. As in you want her to be your girlfriend" Finn let out a laugh at the dog's words.

"You're funny" Dude let out a scoff. Humans were such idiots. "I asked Gwen about us going to Cotillion together and she just laughed in my face. She said she couldn't be tied down to just the one guy when she has other guys she'd need to attend to too" Finn couldn't tell you how or why he was sat in Carlos' bed talking to a dog but Dude could talk now and he was a very good listener.

"You need to drop that girl. She doesn't respect you enough" Finn sighed "I like her though" Dude let out an unconvincing hum "do you like her? Or do you just like the idea of having a girl who is willing to give you just a small part of something else you want?" Finn was a little lost in thought at that one. He wasn't really sure what to think.

"You should be someone's first choice. Not their second, third or fourth. If you aren't her first and she's not willing to give up those other guys for you then she isn't worth your time. That's just the facts in it all" Dude was really not a fan of Gwen by the sound of disgust in his voice when he talked about her.

"I'm going to have no one to be at Cotillion with if I just drop her" If Dude could shrug then he would've in that moment "so? You don't have to have a date to have fun. You have friends there who also won't have dates" Finn rolled his eyes, that wasn't true.

"No. Evie is going to be with Doug. Carlos has got a secret girl that I'm sure he's eventually going to ask out. When Mal comes back she will be with Ben and I'm sure Jay will end up bringing someone. They are my only friends here and they will all be with someone" the boy frowned.

"Carlos likes your sister" Finn furrowed his brows not really surprised but still slightly surprised at the same time. "They'd be cute. She'd definitely say yes to him" he said to the dog who was a little taken aback by the reaction to Carlos liking his sister.

"I might be there. You can be my dude and hang with me and we can dance together and jump! It'll be great fun" Finn laughed as he petted the dog "that sounds great, Dude. I look forward to it" he smiled.

Finn felt a slight bit of pain in his chest. A pain he'd get every couple of weeks. It started right after the coronation but he never thought anything of it. "Finn? Are you ok? If you're going to die can you at least wait until the others get back. I don't know how to call an ambulance" Finn shook his head "I'm fine. Just a little sore that's all" he said trying to play off the pain.

"I'm going to sleep for a little bit. I'll probably feel better when I wake up" Finn yawned as he closed his eyes and he quickly fell into a sleep though his hand remained on his heart due to the pain.

Finn was woken up by the sound of voices that came from the very room he was in as of now. He slowly woke up and saw Chad, Carlos and Jay. "Please do not tell me he came in here while I was sleeping to use the printer" Chad let out a small nervous laugh.

"Chad, out!" Jay walked over and held the door open for Chad to leave "I'm taking this" he said waving an action figure in his hand at Carlos. "And if you think I—" Jay had already closed the door which muffled out the sound of Chads voice.

"Is Evie ok? Is Mal back too?" Jay and Carlos shared a look between each other. They couldn't just lie to the boy in front of them. He was their friend too as was Ben, he deserved to know the truth.

"Ben was kidnapped by Uma and her pirates. We're making a fake wand to give to her since she requested Fairy Godmother's wand in exchange for Ben" Carlos explained "is Evie ok?" Jay and Carlos gave Finn a look but he was far too interested to know about Evie to care "she's ok. She's with Mal" Finn let out a breath of relief.

"I'm coming with you guys. Don't argue with me about it because I'm not taking no for an answer. The more the merrier, right?" Jay looked at Carlos and shrugged "sounds cool to me" they both agreed.

The three sat back as they waited for the wand to print so they could finally get out of the dorms and back to the Isle.
