"You are going to be happy. I will do anything for that," Kayanangai whispered to her child growing inside her.

"If you ask me whether I am happy now, I don't know, my child. But when I am going to hold you, I know I am going to be so happy," she smiles saying that.

The sky looks marvelous and she's feeling lonely than ever before. Heaving a sigh, Kayanangai smiled watching it.

Everything she ever faced in her life has only lasted for some days or months or years: the way she was happy with her family, the way people treated her nicely here, the way her sister was affectionate, and then finally Aathiyan's love.

It fading and she can feel it. Ever since the day he becomes the King, she realized that he's getting far from her. They were not like how they used to be. He showed his anger a couple of times when she asked him where he was or why he didn't come earlier. It just irritates him so she stopped asking those questions and stay silent because it's so easy to do.

He comes to see her whenever he wants; He talks to her only when he's in a good disposition and he sleeps with her now and then.

If there's anything she should do to make things go back to normal she would do that but she got nothing. Maybe what she said to him must be right. She's not the ideal wife for him nor the daughter-in-law for this family. Mathinila is more fit in this kind of environment but she isn't.

As they say, all the good things come to an end and she thinks their relationship has lost the spark when he wasn't the King.

In the meantime, she got her own duties in this palace and often spend time with Sumitra. She comes across Mathinila but she would just smile at her as they weren't sisters at all. Kayanangai couldn't understand her sister anymore and staying this way is better than talking with her.

Her mother-in-law still has that hostility in her tone, probably she will stay that way for some more days. It's hurting but what else she can do?

Kayanangai hadn't had much time to be free, if she gets time, she would ask her father or her brother to come to see her. Being with them makes her happy.

The more and more she thinks about what happened to her that day, she realizes that's something uncanny. That's not one of the pregnancy symptoms she experienced, she never felt that way before and it's like someone is controlling her. The one thing she clearly remembers was eating the sweet that her sister gave to her. But she's afraid to think in any bad way. She still believes Mathinila is a good person.

Her father said to her is what she does these days –be patient, life will be hard but it's never going to stay the same way.

What he said is true, nothing in her life remained the same so she decided to be calm and wait for the next happy time of her life.

While looking at the skies sitting in the garden she heard footsteps and she turned to see Veera, standing behind her.

She was taken aback at first and couldn't know how to react.

He smiles at her, "I hope I didn't startle you," he said.

Kayanangai smiles, nodding her head.

"You can sit and do what you were doing," he said.

"No, I think I should go," she said.

"Why? You don't have to shun me. My brother is not here," he said.

That made her uncomfortable. She smiles and sat down on the garden grass. She decides to walk a little around the place and she came to the palace garden after roaming around the empty corridors. The garden was tranquil so she sat down to watch the skies.
