The moon represents love, coldness, and compassion. Watching everything from afar, it holds all the mysteries of the world. Being the oldest guards of the world, it protects humans from the dead and profane creatures that are hiding under the dark with its silvery light.

But that day there's no moon and moonlight. It's completely dark in that eerie midnight. The place was weirdly silent and cold, perhaps the air and the trees know what type of merciless act going to happen there. Tides moved slowly in fear and no other creature is awake to witness it.

"Rathi!" someone whispered in her ears and Rathi jolted up from her sleep feeling the creepiness in the voice and coolness in the ambiance. She opened her eyes to see herself in the room beside her grandparents' house. She got confused about how she came here and her heart started throbbing in fear.

Immediately Rathi stood up to leave but she stopped and turned to see herself sleeping on the floor. There she realized that she's in her dream. But why I am here? She thought for a moment and remembered about the time when she's in this room -the time of her grandparent's death!

Rathi's breath hitched by the realization -am I going to see how they died? She thought and opened the door in terror. She came out of the room and saw the ambiance is hooded in the complete darkness. She confirmed it's the same day where they died seeing her clothes, her wound on her hand, and the stones that she picked from the ground near her door, she drawn circles on the mud using that were also there.

Rathi found her grandparent's house is closed, so she sat down on the ground outside, waiting to know how it happened. She's too afraid to enter their house, whether they are already killed? Or waiting to be killed? She doesn't have the courage to see it.

Looking at the side of other's houses, Rathi didn't look at her own house because never in her dreams she can think that Aadhiyan will do such a thing to their own grandparents. Moments passed, a cold breeze hit her hard when she heard the approaching footsteps from the other side.

Rathi fell back on the ground after being hardly hit by the shock.

Her hope is destroyed! Her love is thrown out of her heart in disgust and she turned pale seeing Aadhiyan coming nearer. Her eyes welled in tears seeing his dark figure. For all these days she thoughts he's just heartless but now she understood he's not at all a human.

He stood before the house and the oil lamp showed his merciless face. Rathi stood up opposite him when he hesitated to go inside.

"I can't," he cried to someone nodding his head. Suddenly something got inside him and his eyes glowed in fury. Rathi closed her mouth in shock to find who it is -that's the keeper of this place, the king.

Aadhiyan easily opened the locked door just by seeing it and went inside. Rathi hesitated, she doesn't want to see how he's killing them but her legs eventually dragged her inside and she stood beside him helpless. He kneeled beside her grandmother and held her neck to strangle. Her grandma opened her eyes, though she was shocked at first to see Aadhiyan she didn't struggle to save her life. He's not himself, he's proud to kill someone and that showed he's not all Aadhiyan.

But Rathi couldn't see him more than as her husband, she believes it's Aadhiyan who's doing it. He took a pillow to kill their dying grandfather. Rathi can't stand there anymore to see how their innocent grandparents were getting killed for no reason.

Reason? Why he killed them? Rathi thought, knotting her eyes.

She turned to leave when her grandfather died as well. But out of nowhere, Aadhiyan caught her hand, Rathi started breathing hard, and she looked at Aadhiyan's dark eyes in dread. It doesn't felt like she's in her dream, his touch seems real and hard.

With a smirk on his face, "You're going to die next," he laughed, his tone has a determination and his eyes glowed in murderous pleasure. She was alarmed to hear that. Her body shook up. Once Aadhiyan left her hand, he and the place everything started fading away from her eyes. Rathi woke up from her vision, it's not just a dream, it's the truth that she doesn't know for all these days. She doesn't know all the good and bad's of this world, she never lived a normal life like a normal person however she knows, no one has the right to take another person's life. It's an inhuman act that least anyone could think to do.

She turned to her side and saw Aadhiyan sleeping beside her, she was jerked and pulled out from his embrace and fell on the floor frightened to see his face.

"Amma," she squealed by the pain on her wrist but Aadhiyan didn't wake up from his deep sleep since it's the height of midnight but could still see his face in the light of the moon.

It's the worst dream she has ever had in her life. Her husband killing their own grandparents, how cruel and vile it is. She has spent just a few months with them but he has spent his entire life in their care and love. How could he do such a thing to them? She thought and cried closing her mouth not only for what he did but also for thinking that she has married a murderer and having his baby make her nauseating. There she regretted the love she had before going to sleep. They even made love last night and now it's burning wherever he touched her.

Oh, God! I am a filthy human in the entire world! I am a fool! I am a fool! I have done a sin! I have done the greatest sin! She cried falling back on the floor hugging her stomach. Even she couldn't cry the way she wanted at that moment.

I should not stay here! I need to get out of this place! She made her mind and got up from the floor. Dashing out of the room, Rathi ran to the door and tried to open it but a lock at the top was not at her reach. She dragged the nearby chair to the door and climbed on it.

Meanwhile hearing the sound of her anklet, Aadhiyan's sleep got disturbed. He immediately got up after seeing her absence, coming out of the room, he saw the sound is coming from downstairs.

He looked at her standing from upstairs, he couldn't read her mind because it's blank but he felt a strong aura of fear.

Rathi successfully unlocked the door and felt somewhat relaxed unaware that her husband is watching her.

"What you're doing?" his voice startled her greatly.

She paused all her actions and by standing in the chair she turned to see him walking down on the stairs. The faint illumination from the oil lamps fell on his half-naked body.

Her eyes traveled along with him and landed just before. He stood beside the chair and looked up at her face.

"What you're doing, at this time?" he asked gently but that doesn't fail to shiver her in fear.

"I-I want to go out," she stuttered and her voice cracked because of the crying.

"Why?" he narrowed his eyes and looked at her eyes which are welled with tears.

"I-I want to g-go out, please let me go," she cried.

"I asked why?" Even after looking at her tears, he's too stubborn to know the reason.

Rathi was silent, she couldn't answer and tried not to think about what she has seen.

"Have you dreamt about anything?" he asked guessing it correctly. Her face is enough for him to understand what she's thinking. Yes indeed she had a dream, he confirmed.

"Whatever it is, forget it!" he told firmly.

"Okay," she mumbled nodding her head.

"Get back to sleep," he said like a warning and held her hand. Rathi got down from the chair and followed him unwillingly.
