Chapter 18

Aiden's Pov

As soon as the car leaves Kayden is in tears. It's no secret that Kayden is very attached to Arlo, so the way Kayden is acting is no surprise to any of us. Kayden has a fear of abandonment and even though he knows Arlo hasn't left willingly, it will still make him overthink in ways he shouldn't.

Matteo takes Kayden in his arms and presses a kiss to the crown of his head. "It's going to be okay baby. As soon as he rings, you can be the first one to talk to him yeah?"

Kayden doesn't answer, the tears just keep streaming down his face. Not being able to look at Kayden like that and knowing I can't do anything about it, I go back into the house and start to make dinner. Matteo won't be able to cook because he will be looking after Kayden and the rest of the guys just won't be up to it.

Finally, after a couple of minutes, the rest of the guys start coming in. Finn walks over to me and hugs me from behind while I chop the onions, his head in the crook of my neck. "Do you think he will come back?" He whispers.

The question makes my stomach twist uncomfortable. The truth is, I have no clue and I hate that. I have never seen all the guys as happy as they are when Arlo is around. We all finally feel complete. Unfortunately, that feeling has been taken away from us. Truthfully, I answer "I don't know baby. Let's hope that he does yeah?" I feel him nod his head and for the rest of the time I spend cooking dinner, Finn stays in the kitchen with me, staying as close as he possibly can without being in my way.

"Dinners ready!" I shout when I finally finish. I frown when I don't see Kayden. He needs to eat. I give a questioning look. "Where's Kayden?"

Matteo sighs and drags his hands down his face, looking completely defeated. "He's refusing to come down and eat. Says he doesn't want to miss the phone if Arlo calls."

"Is it okay to take his food up to him?" I ask "I'll take mine as well, then I can make sure he's eating his without letting my food go cold." Matteo smiles thankfully and nods.

That's all I need before I grab the plates and take them up to Kayden's room. However, when I open the door there's no one there. It only takes me a second to guess where he really is.

I walk into Arlo and Finn's room to find Kaydon in Arlo's bed, his shaking back facing towards me. I close the door behind me and place the plates on the floor. "Baby?" I whisper, walking over to the bed.

He doesn't say anything so I lay on the bed behind him, pulling him into my arms. "Tell me what you're thinking"

Kayden takes a deep breath in "What if he never comes back? I don't think I could move on Aiden, I've gotten so used to doing my boring daily tasks with him or just anything with him that I don't think I can do them without him." He pauses for a second trying to calm himself down "I know we have only known him a couple of months but I love him just as much as I love you guys."

I peck his neck "I know baby, we all do." I rub his arm, hoping it will calm him down some more "He will come back. His parents can't control him forever."

Kayden's face changes from sad to confused "Wait he's eighteen. Why couldn't he make his own decision?"

The question reminds me that Kayden wasn't there for the conversation Matteo sat us down for. After Arlo's parents called. "They have control until he's nineteen baby. They wanted to make sure that Arlo would be okay after he turned eighteen because he wasn't in a good place, so they went to court."

Kayden sits up a little "Doesn't he turn nineteen in a couple of months?"

I nod. That's why(as much as I was sad) didn't react too badly because I knew he would be coming back to us in a few months month. It still hurts though, and a couple of months will feel like forever but at least it isn't years.

I sit up as well "Do you think you could eat your food? I brought it up here with mine so we can eat it up here together."

Kayden reluctantly nods. I know the last thing he wants to do is eat but he needs to. I smile thankfully. "Why don't we watch Criminal Minds while we eat?"

Finally, I see a genuine smile on his face.

Hey, my beautiful people. I'm so sorry that I haven't uploaded a chapter in a while. My brain has just been all over the place lately.

On top of that I'm currently working on another book that I will be actually publishing (don't worry the plot, descriptions, grammar and spelling will be better. This is just my fun book.) so as you can guess that's been taking most of my time because I want to get it out into the world by early next year.

Plus I devoured a fantasy series and Taming 7 just came out so.....

Anywaysss this is just a short filler chapter of the guy's POV after Arlo left. I hope you somewhat enjoyed it.

I know this chapter isn't the best but I didn't want to keep you guys waiting any longer.❤️
