chapter 21

Kaydens pov

"Come on Kayden, you can't stay in bed all day." Matteo Groans while trying to pull the covers off me. He's been trying to get me out of bed for the past half an hour and I just keep refusing. To be honest, I'm not in the mood to get out of my bed today, all I want to do is rot in bed while watching Criminal Minds but Matteo isn't having it.

"You have five seconds to get out of bed on your own before I come and drag you out," Jace shouts from his room down the hall. I huff and get out of bed, not wanting Jace to drag me like he did the last time we had this situation, I really was not expecting him to do it.

Matteo sends me an 'Are you for real right now?' look and I just shrug my shoulders, maybe he should have just started with that.

"I'll be downstairs in ten." I mutter opening the door to the bathroom. Matteo only nods then walks out probably going to talk to one of the guys.

More like fifteen minutes later I walk downstairs feeling a little bit better in myself, it's honestly surprising what a shower can do for your mind. Jace notices me first and opens his arms wide with a small smile, ignoring the giddy feeling in my stomach I make my way towards him but before I can sit next to him on the sofa he grabs me by my thighs and pulls me onto his lap.

The giddy feeling I had before doubles. I try and hide my blushing face in the corner of his neck but he doesn't let me, instead, he grasps my face with one hand and places a delicate kiss on my lips. "You feeling better?" He whispers as he places another kiss behind my ear. I nod and place my head on his shoulders enjoying this moment.

Around five minutes later there's a knock on the. The sound makes me pull away from Jace and when I glance at him I notice the confused look on his face. So I'm not the only one confused.

Matteo stands and walks to the door with a grin. As soon as he opens the door he's tackled into a hug. It takes me a second but when I realise who it is my breathing stops.

There's no way.

He was supposed to be at home with his parents. Miles away.

When they separate from the hug Arlo turns towards us, his eyes watering as he does so. My body moves before I can even realise it and in a few seconds, I'm in Arlo's arms again. I missed this. My right hand is in his soft hair gripping tightly as if he would leave at any moment while my left was around his torso hugging him closer to me. I just can't get close enough to him.

"I missed you so much." I croak out. The sound of my voice makes me realise I've been crying this whole time.

He squeezes me to him, kissing the top of my head "I missed you so much more Kayden." I shake my head because I very much doubt it but he just nods, still squeezing me to him.

Hey my beautiful people.

Sorry, I've been gone for so long. This month has been crazy busy for me.

I got a new job!! And honestly, that's what's been taking up most of my time but I also had a family member who was in the hospital so yeah busy month. Thank you guys for being so patient!

I know I said that this chapter would be longer but I ended up wanting to do something a little different so here's a short one from Kayden's POV.
