Arlo's pov
I'm so bored.
three weeks of being on my own and all I can say is I'm depressed and bored out of my mind.
I could go out or do things around the house but I refuse to give my parents that satisfaction, so here I am in the same place I've been for nearly a month.
I can say that there is some good that has come out of this though, and that good is I journal now. I was on YouTube and went down a journaling rabbit hole. Luckily enough I found a new journal in one of my mum's cupboards in her at-home office. So that's one thing that's busied my mind during all of this and I must say it's very therapeutic. I may or may have not cussed out a good couple of people I know in that thing. It's also helped me strengthen my little artistic skills.
A knock on my door takes my attention away from the cow face I was drawing. Rude.
"Come in."
My dad walks in with a smile. "I have some good news."
I inwardly roll my eyes. I doubt it.
"What's the good news?" I mumble eyes downcasted to the journal in my lap.
My dad takes a seat on the edge of my bed facing me "Well, your mother and I have been talking and we have realized that you're not very happy here."
Really? It's not like I haven't told you that. Instead of saying my thoughts, I bite my tongue. The last thing I want is an argument because I just honestly don't have the energy for one.
I nod in agreement and wait for what else he has to say.
He leans forward and takes my hand in his "Believe it not Arlo your mum and I don't want to see you upset, it's the whole reason we sent you to go live with the guys."
The mention of the guys makes my stomach flutter with butterflies. I miss them.
"We decided it's best if you go back and live with the guys again." he pauses with a smile, letting me take in the information.
My heart stops. Is he serious? I can go back home with my guys?
Deciding to go on he adds "I spoke with Matteo last week, he said he would happily take you back in. He said that all of them miss you."
"R-really?" I stutter, too many thoughts running around In my brain.
My dad's smile turns a little sad, guilty even. "Yeah, I have to be honest Arlo, after we took you home I thought about how much you must miss the guys you lived with. It made me feel so guilty and I had a talk with your mother after that but she didn't want to hear it. She didn't her baby not at home but after a while, I think she realised how sad you truly were and she agreed."
Not knowing what to say, I lean over and give him a hug. His arms tightly wrap around me, this is the first hug I've had from him that felt this comforting in a good while. "Thank you." I whisper. He squeezes me in response.
Once we pull away I frown slightly "Where's mum?"
Dad's face falls and I know exactly what he's going to say. "She's at work. Unfortunately she couldn't get the day off and the fuckers wouldn't even let her work from home today." The genuine annoyance in tone surprised me.
I shrug, used to one of them not being here for something important.
Dad stands from my bed and puts on his happy face. "If I was you, I would get to packing because we leave tomorrow morning and it's a long drive."
I nod and stand up as well ready to get my suitcase out but my dad's laugh steals my attention. I look at him confused as to what he is laughing at. He points to the journal lying on my bed "Is that your mothers?"
I smile sheepily "She wasn't using it."
He shakes his head and leaves the room.
I'm going home.
