Namaste
Chapter 15As Tanushree reached for the doorknob, her heart pounding with fear and frustration, she suddenly felt a pair of strong hands wrap around her bust and waist, lifting her off the ground. Panic surged through her as she struggled against the grip, her voice rising in a desperate scream.
"Leave me!" she cried out, her voice trembling with emotion. "I said, leave me! I will not stay with you!"
But Abhimaan ignored her protests, tossing her onto the bed with force, his eyes locked on hers as he hovered over her.
"Look, Tanushree. I am sorry," he said, his voice softening with genuine remorse. "I didn't mean any of it."
Her eyes filled with tears as she stared up at him, the pain of his words cutting deep into her soul.
"You always keep hurting me," she whispered brokenly, her voice choked with emotion.
"I am sorry," he whispered back, his own voice heavy with regret. "I will not stay with you anymore," she declared, her voice trembling with determination.
But Abhimaan's resolve was firm as he got up and moved to the door, taking the keys and locking her inside the room.“You have to.”
"Let me out!" Tanushree screamed, her voice echoing off the walls as she pounded on the door in a desperate attempt to escape. But her cries fell on deaf ears as Abhimaan walked away, leaving her alone with her tears.
Tanushree searched frantically for her phone, her heart sank when she realised that both her phone and laptop were downstairs. Feeling utterly defeated, she sank onto the bed, her tears flowing freely as she grappled with the overwhelming sense of despair.
It was afternoon when Abhimaan entered her room with lunch, his expression unreadable as he took in the sight of her sleeping form. He knew instantly that she had spent the time in tears, and a pang of guilt twisted in his chest.
"T-Tanu," he called softly, his voice devoid of emotion as he approached her. He knew that any display of tenderness would only provoke her anger further, and he couldn't afford to let her anger consume them both.
Tanushree stirred at the sound of his voice, her eyes opening slowly as she held her throbbing head in her hands. "My head hurts," she whispered, her voice strained with pain.
Abhimaan nodded in response, his features rigid as he held out the plate of food. "Have some food," he said curtly. "I'll give you meds after that.”
Tanushree quietly ate her food, her mind swirling with a mix of emotions. As she finished her meal, she couldn't hold back the question that had been nagging at her.
"Why are you treating me like some crap? Did someone force you into marrying me?" she asked softly, her voice laced with vulnerability. Tears glistened in her eyes as she searched his face for answers.
Abhimaan sighed heavily, his gaze dropping to the floor before meeting hers. "No one forced me, Tanushree," he admitted, his voice tinged with remorse.
"Then why?" she pressed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Married people don't behave this way, let alone newlyweds."
Closing his eyes briefly, Abhimaan gathered his thoughts before meeting her gaze once more. "I promise to treat you better, Tanushree," he said earnestly. "Give me some time. I'm working on myself.
Tanushree's eyes softened and she asked. “Is something or someone bothering, you?” She asked placing a comforting hand on his knees. Her gentle touch and concern melted Abhimaan's defenses, and he found himself unable to hold back his emotions any longer.
"I can handle it," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper as he looked up at her.
"I am here for you, Maan. No matter what," Tanushree reassured him, her voice filled with genuine care and compassion. Her words struck a chord deep within him, and he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by her support. His judgement about her had been wrong all along.
Moved by her kindness and understanding, Abhimaan wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace, seeking solace in her comforting presence. In that moment, he realized just how fortunate he was to have Tanushree by his side, and he silently vowed to be there for her in return.
They remained wrapped in each other's embrace, the tension and unease of the previous moments seemed to melt away, replaced by a sense of warmth and closeness. Abhimaan's question broke the silence, his voice gentle yet hopeful as he asked, "Shillong chalogi mere saath?"
Tanushree's heart fluttered at the suggestion, and a shy smile tugged at her lips as she nodded, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue. The idea of exploring a new place with Abhimaan filled her with excitement and anticipation. It was an opportunity to spend more time with him.
