Lynn's POV

Margo and I stood at our lockers, retrieving our books for History class while engaging in idle conversation.

I was not so bummed out about having to work with Missy after my conversation with Luna.

"Uh-oh. Queen of mean 10 o'clock," Margo spoke and I looked to my left to see none other than Missy Samuels, clad in her red and white cheer uniform, approaching us.

"See you in class LJ," Margo spoke, hurrying away before Missy got to us.

"Look Loud. You don't like me and I don't like you but we have to work together so let's just agree to be professional about this and work together. Put your number in," she said, handing me her phone.

I took it and put in my number then handed her phone back. "Sports God?" She quirked a brow at the nickname I gave myself.   "How many Sports Gods do you know? When you see the name you'll know it's me," I answered like it was the most logical thing. She shook her head. Five seconds later my phone rang. I took it out of my pocket, seeing a strange number. "Save my number," she spoke.

I smirked as I saved her as Miss HBIC. "Good. You're coming over to my house so we can start the project. We'll leave at 5:15. I'll meet you out front. Don't be late," and with that she walked away, snapping her fingers as Natalie and Bridgette walked beside her.

"Wow," I mouthed.

Luckily today I had most of my classes with Margo and only one with Missy and Bridgette who both ignored me which I didn't mind since I couldn't stand either of them anyway.

It was currently the last class before lunch and Margo and I were passing notes to each other instead of actually paying attention. It was Social Studies. I think we had some quiz coming up but I was too bored to care. I could feel my stomach growling and today was tater tot Tuesday. My mouth was running water just thinking about it.

The bell barely rang before everyone was out the door.

Margo, Paula, Cathy and her cousin Tina sat at our usual table and Cathy was currently telling us about this new app that's like having a pen pal but you text instead of write letters and it's totally anonymous.

"....And it's free," she finished. "You guys should totally download the app and create an account. I've been using it for the past week. It's addicting," Cathy said, her brown eyes glowing.

"What's the point of talking to a complete stranger who for all I know could be a serial rapist that likes underaged girls," I said.

The three of them looked at me, mouths hung open. "What?" "That took a dark turn LJ," Margo said.

"It's mostly teenagers on the app anyways. You can choose to reveal who you are to each other. It doesn't have to be anonymous," Cathy explained.

"I made a friend from New York," Tina chimed in.

"Maybe I'll give it a try," Paula said. "What about your boyfriend?" I asked.

"He can join the app too," she said.   "I wonder if Amelia is on the app," Margo said, glancing at the curly haired girl with braces.

I rolled my eyes. The app is stupid.

Once school ended I went to the basketball court. We didn't have practice today. We always got Tuesdays off. Coach was nice enough to give us one day off. I wish it was Friday but no such luck.

I decided to do some free throws and some dribbling while I waited for Miss HBIC to get done with practice.

Missy's POV

Practice went well today. No one fell thankfully and we were almost done with the halftime choreography and cheers.

Once I got done with practice I immediately hit the showers as did most of us, while others opted to just shower at home since school was over anyways.

After my shower I changed into a plain short sleeved white crop top and pink athletic tights. I slipped on a pair of pink crocs, put my uniform in my gym bag and walked out of the locker room with Natalie and Bridgette.

On our way out of the school I heard thumping coming from inside the gymnasium.

"You guys go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow," I said to Natalie and Bridgette as they continued to walk.

I opened the doors where I saw Lynn making free throws. She did it so effortlessly. I was mesmerized just watching her in the zone.

I smiled to myself as I opened my phone and went into my contacts. I scrolled down to Sports God and added a bunch of different sport related emojis. I had to admit, the name was fitting.

"Nice shots!" I complimented. She dropped the ball and turned around. "Jesus! How long have you been standing there?" She asked. "Not long. I thought we said the front of the school at 5:15. It's now 5:30."

"It is? Oh crap I'm sorry. I guess I was too in the zone," she said. "Whatever. Let's just go," I said.

By the time we got to the front of the school, my mom was waiting. "Hi mom. This is Lynn Loud. She's my English partner."

"Hi I'm Mercedes Samuels," my mom greeted Lynn. "Nice to meet you," Lynn said.

Both of us got in the car and mom started the journey home.
