Author's POV

For the next month, Lynn and Natalie continued to get closer.

They would meet each other in the hallways and text in classes and steal convos in the bathroom in between classes.

They still hadn't kissed yet which was strange seeing as they have been dating for almost two months.

The moment just hadn't come yet or was always interrupted but neither felt the need to rush it. It would happen when it happened.

It had been a month since Missy had realized that she was into Lynn which was making her relationship with Natalie more difficult but the other blonde didn't seem to notice but a certain brunette did.

"Okay why have you been distancing yourself from Nat?" Bridgette asked as she and Missy got their books from their lockers.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Missy said.  "Nat and I are fine. If I seem distant it's just because I'm giving her space to be with her girlfriend. That's all," Missy shrugged then the bell rang.   "I'll see you later," she said as she walked into the lab for Biology which she had with Lynn.

The jock wasn't yet in class so Missy could relax a bit.

Of course just a few minutes in, Lynn walked in with another girl from the basketball team. The one who always wore the cast. Paula. Both girls were laughing. Missy couldn't help but admire the brunette's laugh which made her feel warm inside.

Lynn took the seat right behind Missy. She tapped Missy on the shoulder.   "Hey you."

"Hey," Missy flashed Lynn a brief smile before turning around.

Lynn found herself not being able to focus on class. She felt like Missy was being more quiet than usual. Sure the two of them still texted on the phone, especially after Missy's therapy sessions but not really much after that and they still had their project to work on.

Not wanting Paula or anyone else to hear their conversation, Lynn texted Missy.

Sports God: Hey. R u ok?

Missy: Yh. Why wouldn't I be?

Sports God: Oh. Ok. Kkl

Lynn left Missy alone after that which Missy was grateful for. She did really like Lynn but at the same time she needed to distance herself before she did or said something she would regret.

*********

Missy was glad that she only had one more day of school before the weekend. She was really over school and just wanted to go home and vent to her big sister.

As soon as she got home, she FaceTimed her big sister Cassie.

Missy's POV

"Hey Cass." "Hey mini me. What's good?"

I let out a loud dramatic groan.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I played matchmaker with Natalie and her crush and now they're always together and I'm jealous."

"Why would you be jealous?" She asked as I heard shuffling in her room.

"What are you doing?" I asked.    "Going to an early dinner then I'm gonna study cause finals are coming up."

"I will never understand how you can go out so often and still be an A student."

"It's a gift," she said as she applied blush.   "Now tell me why you're jealous."

"If I tell you something will you promise to still love me and not tell a soul?"

"Of course I will still love you and who am I gonna tell? None of my college friends know you or would even care about anything I tell them about you."

"Okay," I exhaled and peeped out of my door, looking both ways before proceeding to tell my deepest darkest secret.

"I like someone."    Cassie snorted.   "That's it? That's your big secret? We all like someone. I like someone. I'm currently dating him."

"That's the thing. My someone is a her,"    Cassie paused and her end went silent.

"Are you still there?" I asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Oh yeah. Sorry. I was just caught off guard."

"So are you like a lesbian or?" Cassie asked.    "I don't know. I've never felt this way about a girl before."

"So this girl that you like, she's Natalie's girlfriend?"

"Yeah."    "Wait. So now Nat's gay?"    "She thinks she might be bisexual since she's dated guys before."

"Interesting. So who is this girl that has captured my little sister's heart?"

"Don't say it like that," I rolled my eyes but scrolled through my phone for a picture of Lynn. It was one that I took of her in her blue blazer when I helped her clean her house.

"She's cute. What's her name?"    "Lynn Loud."

"Wait! She's your project partner? The one you couldn't stand for years?" Cassie asked as she sprayed on her perfume.

"Yes. It's ironic. I know. So what am I gonna do?"

"The only thing you can do. Avoid this Lynn girl at all costs and find someone else you're interested in so you don't have to be around Lynn all the time."

"Well it's gonna be hard to avoid her when she's my project partner."

"Tell you what. Why don't you have a sleepover tomorrow night. Just a few girls from the squad and you guys can do a pool day on Saturday and you can take your mind off Lynn."

"That's a great idea. You're the best Cass."

"I know. Now I have to go."   "Wait. Let me see the fit first."

She held out the phone and stood at a distance, showing off her baby blue dress that complimented her eyes.

"Oohhhh," I said.   "You look hot."

"Thank you. Now I really have to go. Remember what I said. Sleepover and no Lynn."

"You got it."

After I hung up, I texted a few girls from the squad, inviting them to a sleepover at my place.

Everyone said yes and I smiled, knowing how fun the weekend was going to be.

It was going to be a weekend full of movies, junk food, laughter and best of all, no Lynn.
