Missy's POV

It was lunchtime on Friday and I was still thinking about my messages with Lakergirl.

It's amazing how I connected with someone I barely even know when I struggled to connect with my own friends sometimes.

"So what's Lynn like?" Natalie asked me.   "I don't know. I barely know the girl. She's really into sports. She has a shit ton of siblings. There's nothing else really," I shrugged as I ate a French fry.

"Can you like give me her number?"    "Nat I love you and even though I hate her, I'm not going to just give out her number to you so she can wonder why some stranger has her number. If you want her number, you'll have to get it yourself. Just ask her."

"I can't do that. She probably hates me," Natalie frowned.   "Probably and I don't see why you don't hate her. I can't stand her," I rolled my eyes as I glanced across our table where the brown haired jock sat with her friends, in her basketball jersey, laughing at something one of her friends probably said.

"She's not that bad," Natalie said.   "Yeah well I wish you and I could swap places and you do this project with her instead of me," I said.

"Yeah lucky you. You get to spend all this time with her," Natalie said.

"Okay. Can we stop taking about Lynn and talk about the party I overheard some seniors talking about?" Bridgette asked.

Lynn's POV

After the last bell rang, I went into the locker room to change into basketball shoes.

"Practice is probably gonna be brutal today. I heard coach is beefing with the cheer coach," Margo said as she got changed.

One thing with Margo, she was gonna gossip.

"Really?" Cathy asked as she put on her basketball shorts.    "Oh yeah. Apparently he saw her hanging out with her ex over the weekend. She said it was because her ex was going through some stuff."

"Okay. How do you know all this?" I asked.   "Cause I got eyes and ears everywhere LJ."

I rolled my eyes. I went on my phone, just scrolling idly through Instacam.

Suddenly a notification popped up on my phone.

It was from Chit Chat.

Autumn: Hey. R u home yet?

Lakergirl: Nope. I have practice but I should be home in a bit. Hopefully

Autumn: I'm home. Just watching Netflix.

Lakergirl: What r u watching?

Autumn: The Vampire Diaries

Lakergirl: Ugh! R u a vampire fanatic?

Autumn: OMG! Yes! I love them all! Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Twilight. I love Twilight. Did you watch Twilight?

Lakergirl: I did with my sisters.

Autumn: So team Edward or Jacob?

Lakergirl: Jacob.

Autumn: I knew I liked you.

Lakergirl: 😏

Lakergirl: I gotta go. Ttyl. Enjoy Vampire Diaries.

Autumn: I will. Enjoy practice

"Hey LJ. It's time to go," Margo said. I shut off my phone and put it in my bag then put it in my bag in my locker.

*********

Practice went well with the team being split into two sides. I was captain for one side and Margo for the other. Of course my side won but Margo's side scored some good points too.

"So LJ what are you gonna do for the weekend?" Margo yelled over the sound of the showers.

"I have to continue my assignment with Missy."

"Oh shit you guys started already? I have a huge Geo project and I'm still not even sure who my partner is and it's due in three weeks."

I laughed loudly at that.

"So any of you planning on going to that high schoolers only party next week Saturday? Some rich senior is throwing it," Paula said.

"Drew Allen is throwing the party," Cathy said. "And I wouldn't miss it." "Free liquor and drunken scandals? I'm already there," Margo said.

"What about you Lynn?" Tina asked.

"I don't think so. My sisters probably will go though. They do love a good party."

"I wouldn't mind seeing Leni. She is really hot," Margo said.    "Cool it. That's my sister," I said.

"Come on LJ. It's your first high school party. You can't miss it," Margo pushed.

"Who knows you might find a cute guy there," Tina chimed in.

I gagged. "Gross."

The whole team laughed. "Yo LJ. Can I get a ride with you?" Margo asked. "Sure."

20 minutes Later

Everyone had cleared out of the locker rooms and were heading home. Margo and I were walking to vanzilla and of course she just had to mention the party again.

"Just come to the party," she said as we walked to vanzilla. "Fine," I rolled my eyes. "Sup Mr. Loud," Margo greeted my dad.   "Hi girls."  "Hey dad. Can you take Margo home?" "Sure. How was practice?" "It was good. We're gonna crush Hazeltucky," I said.    "Awesome," dad added with energy.

My phone pinged inside my gym bag. Margo gasped. "Is that Chit Chat?" "You know the sound of the app?" I raised an eyebrow. "Hell yeah. I've had it for weeks now. Of course I do. So when'd you join and why didn't you tell me?"

"Slipped my mind I guess and I've only had it since yesterday. It's not a big deal."

"So who's texting you?" She asked. "None of your business," I said to which she rolled her eyes and proceeded to go on her phone.

"Thanks for the ride Mr. L. See you tomorrow LJ," Margo waved goodbye as she got out of Vanzilla.

We both exchanged our goodbyes then headed home.

I opened Chit Chat and responded to Autumn's message before going to hang with my siblings.
