Akshat's POV

I rushed towards Sunshine and hugged her tightly. She was shivering and sobbing.

"Shhhh, now that I'm here no one will dare to touch you, Sarah.", I said to her in a soft voice and ran my hands in her hair. I lifted up her face looking into those hazel brown eyes and caressed her cheeks. She responded with a soft smile and we headed towards my room.

I made her sit on the bed while I bought a glass of water for her. I noticed a bruise on her knees.

"Where is the bruise from? Did he hit you?", I asked raging with anger. I can see her flinch because of my voice, but I can't help it. I'm beyond angry right now.

"N- no, I- I was trying to run an- and I fell", she managed to speak those words between her sobs. It hurts me to see her in this condition. It hurts me to see her crying infront of me. I'll not let that bastard go away so easily.

"Wait here, I'll bring first aid for you.", I told her and she nodded. I brought the first aid kit and sat on the floor adjusting her legs on mine.

"I'll, um, do it myself. No need to worry.", she said to me but I ignored her, continuing to do my work. She didn't bother to speak anything after that. She was still sobbing as she was in pain.

I put antiseptic on her bruise and kept the first aid box aside. I sat beside her and hugged her. She hesitated at first but then hugged me back.

"It's gonna be fine now, Sarah. Shhh. Don't cry.", I said to her while kissing the side of her head and tightening my hold on her.

Sarah's POV

I was in his arms, crying my heart out. It felt safe. His arms felt safe. I haven't felt this safe with anyone except my parents and bestfriends. While I hugged him back, thousands of thoughts occured in my mind. Why does he care so much about me? Why am I feeling so safe around him? Why is my feelings towards him something different? Why did he tell Reyaansh to stay away from me? Yes, I heard that as I wasn't too far and his voice was all loud and clear due to anger.

He whispered something in my ears, I couldn't hear it properly as I was lost in my thoughts. He kissed the side of my head and tightened his hold on me. I felt safe in his arms and I didn't want to leave him. It felt like home, being with him felt like home.

I realised that his shirt was getting wet because of me so, I broke our hug.

"Sorry, your shirt got wet because of me.", I said to him looking down.

"Your tears are as precious as you are to me. Let me hold you closer so that you never have to cry again. Now that you have me, I'll never let you shed a drop of tear from your beautiful hazel brown eyes, my Sunshine.", he replied softly lifting up my face and looking directly into my eyes. I smiled at his response.

Did he just called me Sunshine? Did he give me a nickname? If yes, then why "Sunshine"?

I opened my eyes and sensed a gentle pressure on my waist, grounding me in the moment. Turning around, I found him lying beside me, his presence was unexpected yet oddly comforting. I slept beside him without realizing it. Seeing him there made me feel different, like I admired him even more than before, though I don't know why yet.

I gently caressed his cheeks and as I tried to lift his hand from my waist, he responded by unconsciously drawing me closer to him. His murmurs of contentment filled the air, wrapping around me like a comforting embrace. Making it even harder for me to resist the warmth of his presence.

"Akshat", I slowly called him waking him up.

"You're up? How are you feeling now? Are you alright? Is your knee hurting?", he asked in one breath.

"Everything is alright, I'm fine. Calm down.", I assured him and got off the bed. I noticed that I wasn't in my clothes anymore. I scanned myself from my toes to neck. I was wearing his clothes.

"Did you..?", I asked him pointing at his t-shirt which I'm wearing right now.

"Oh no no, I asked a female worker to do it. Don't worry.", he replied instantly sensing my confusion.

I took my phone and checked the time. God dammit it was 8 am. I was supposed to be with Naina right now. My eyes widened as I saw 10 missed calls from both Dhruv and Naina.

"Don't worry, I have informed them that you were here. Go and change, then I'll drop you off.", he said looking at me.

"Okay thankyou.", I said to him. I walked towards him as he was on the other side of the bed. He stood up infront of me and I hugged him, my face resting of his chest. He hugged me back tightly and buried his face in the crook of my neck.

"Thankyou Aksh, thankyou for being there for me yesterday. Thankyou for saving me from that bastard.", I said to him as tears flowed from my eyes.

"Shhh, no need to cry, Sarah. I'll always be there for you. I want you to smile when I'm with you.", he said to me while his hands went through my hair.

I lifted up his face and held his cheeks, wishing him good morning and leaving a peck on his nose.

"Good morning, Sunshine.", he said and kissed my forehead.
