Omniscient
Los Angeles, CA"Overall, I'm so happy for you. Luckily, you don't have to worry about Elias or anything anymore and can finally focus on getting that bag and helping me with this wedding," Ryan joked while showing Trinity the different wedding cake design options. The two were seated in a private area of a bakery in Los Angeles taste testing cake flavors.
Ryan and Dre's wedding was coming up in three months and the last few things she had to plan was a wedding cake, the menu, and the drinks.
And what better way to do that than with her best friend?
"Right," Trinity twisted her lips to the side and picked up a fork as the waiter came back over new slices of cake for them.
"Aht." Ryan cut her eyes at Trinity hearing the tone in her voice.
"What?"
"Why'd you say it like that? All... awkward," Trinity laughed trying to brush it off while sticking her fork into the slice in front of her but all that did was make Ryan snatch it out her hand causing Trinity to laugh.
"I didn't, I just said right meaning I agree." But this was her best friend she was talking to of over ten years and Ryan knew Trinity like the back of her hand. She tried her hardest to play it cool but with the way she was staring at her, that wasn't going to work. Trinity sucked her teeth and leaned back in her chair crossing her arms over her chest. "...They got me covering for The Spartans on away games,"
"Oh my God." Ryan rolled her eyes and sighed deeply.
"I didn't ask for it, trust me. I just thought they'd put me on editing or I cover the LA team but since I'm in San Diego and there's no one out there to do it for them, here I am."
"So basically in short words...you and Elias still rocking," Ryan tilted her head making Trinity scrunch her face up and shake her head.
"What? No! He broke up with me, I'm not this down bad to still give into him." A lie.
"Trinity,"
It got quiet between them and once again, she let out a deep breath and undid her arms, leaning forward on the table.
"...It was twice but-"
"Girl!" Ryan let out a disappointed laugh and shook her head. "I mean fuck Trinity, there's no way he got you stuck like this."
"You don't get it,"
"Well help me get it! Y'all broke up because he wanted to play in the game instead of sitting on the side. He wanted to play a fucking game, Trinity, rather than fighting for what he claims to love and now that you're back in his face full time again, he feels like he got a shot and you're giving it to him. As well as right when you broke up, who was he with? Amaya, the same bitch you was "tripping" for no reason over in Palm Springs according to him."
Trinity didn't answer and just there staring at the table in front of them. She felt as though her best friend, who was engaged to an athlete about to get married to him soon that she's completely in love with, didn't understand what Trinity was going through.
It wasn't just Elias.
It was everything that came with Elias.
