San Diego, CA
Trinity's dirty white converse walked back and forth around her room as her phone was in her hand and the other one picked up random stuff. Some clothes going in the hamper. Essentials in her already ready to go carry on bag for away games. She was a clean person but when she gets stressed out and a bit depressed, her room matches her mental.
Ryan's voice echoed throughout the room from the phone speaker as the two caught up on FaceTime after going a while without talking due to the busy schedules. Of course, Trinity wished her friend was down in San Diego and not in Denver but she knew her being engaged with a famous football player was in the way of that.
"I mean look at the bright side, Trin. You got family! Like...real people out there who obviously is thinking about you, this is good."
"Is it?" She furrowed her eyebrows looking at her phone screen. Ryan's smile faded slowly hearing the tone in Trinity's voice. Clearly her friend was going through it. "I mean...he just pops up on my doorstep and says he's my fucking brother?! Brother! What the hell does that even mean?"
"Maybe he was in another foster home. Have you asked him?"
"No. But he invited me to lunch today and I don't know what to do." A sigh left her lips as she sat down on her bed. The Spartans sweatshirt she had on clearly oversized on her since well....it wasn't technically hers and she stole it from Elias obviously since it was custom and had the #5 on it. "It's like I want to go but...I don't want to be disappointed."
"Babygirl, this could all be a turning leaf for you. Birthdays, Holidays, Reunions- Trin, you've been wanting that for years and this it and you not going to that lunch could stop it." Ryan was trying to be optimistic as possible for her friend. "How old was he again?"
"He didn't say but he was older than me but not too much, I could tell. Which throws me off."
"Another reason to go."
"Maybe."
"You should...but besides that how's everything with The Spartans and by that I mean Mr. Wide Receiver who gets into fights." That made them both chuckle.
"Actually, he's been pretty good out there so-"
"Oop, look at you defending your man."
Trinity let out a snicker and raise her middle finger. "Chill. Anyways, he's not my man but he did ask me out." An audible loud gasp left Ryan's mouth. Trinity rolled her eyes and chuckled standing up from her bed. She exited her room and seen Siren on the couch, laptop on her lap and the TV displaying Real Housewives of Atlanta.
"Elias Cains asked you out? I'm shocked he's even still going for it after y'all blurry pictures got leaked."
"Ugh, I know and I'm just getting even more worried day by day but like...I don't wanna stop. He's a good man and this is a good job, it's hard."
"That's what he said." Siren chimed in making Trinity glare at her for the childish joke before putting the attention back on the phone screen.
"And by a good man you mean?"
"I mean holding doors, good manners, I think affirmations is his love language because he always tell me I deserve this and that and he wants to help me like you remember my ex. The guy was an asshole when it came to helping me but Elias? He asked why I rarely have my car sometimes and I told him I let Siren borrow when I'm gone and he says he'll get her one so I can have mine back-"
