CROSS ACADEMY ━ YEARS PRIOR ▰

It was the middle of the night when a young girl woke up. Yawning as she glanced around before climbing out of bed and heading downstairs, seeing the lights on as she saw that there was someone new in the home. A boy with silver hair and a pair of purple eyes.

A small gasp left her when she noticed that she had been caught staring by him. Ducking back behind the wall.

The man who owned the home was none other than the Headmaster of Cross Academy. Following the boy's gaze as he noticed the girl hiding. "Would you like to say hello?" He asked. "He doesn't bite."

"N-no.." The young girl replied and peeked her head back out slightly.

"Aww~. Come on. I'll introduce you to one another and you can have a new friend aside from Yuki."

"Has she met him?" The girl questioned the man. She had been staying there with him after her parents had mysteriously vanished. She had no clue what had happened and the next second she was taken into his home. The home where she lived with him and his adoptive daughter, Yuki Cross.

"She has and she's still fine."

"I-I'll do it then." She rushed over to their side. 

"Aww are those the pajamas I got for you?!" The man asked in a squeal. Gushing over her as he hugged her.

The young girl flailed her arms up and down at the hug as she didn't know what to do. She knew how he tended to be with them when he found something cute. Her gaze landed on the boy next to them on instinct.

The boy didn't say anything. Only reaching his hand out and tapping the man's shoulder as if to remind him that he was indeed still in the room.

"Oh right." The man cleared his throat as he let go of her and stood up straight. "You already know I am Kaien Cross. You've met my daughter Yuki as well. This is Akemi. My other daughter. She was adopted when she was just three."

"H-hello.. I'm Akemi." The girl quietly introduced herself to the boy.

"This is Zero. He doesn't talk much but he will be staying here for a while too. Make him feel welcomed."

"R-right!" Akemi nodded with pink cheeks before walking closer to the boy. Glancing up at him as she noticed the height difference between them despite being the same age. Almost being intimidated by him but didn't focus on that. Reaching out to him.

Zero kept his gaze on her from the moment he had spotted her staring at them. Feeling her small hand grab his before glancing down at what she was giving him.

"You're hurt. My dad says that a piece of candy and a bandaid would make it feel better." Akemi explained. Always sneaking candy in her pockets.

Zero raised his other hand and pointed behind her.

Her eyes gazed at the headmaster who had left the two alone to deal with the situation he had at hand. Turning back to the boy and shaking her head. "N-no. He's not the one I'm talking about." Giving him a small smile.

The boy continued to say nothing as he glanced at her. He was curious as he stared at her.

The girl seemed to notice as she shook her head. "I'm not saying." She responded. Feeling his eyes burning into her own. "C-come on. Don't do this to me."

Yuki seemed to walk into the room as she noticed the two of them standing there. "What are you two doing?"

"I was giving him a bandaid and a candy."
