As I recoiled backwards from Eris Vanserra I hit a wall. Not a wall a person. I whirl around to see another brother of Lucien's there.
~Lucien had told me about his family before, the cruelty his brothers and father had and the torture he'd been subjected to from them.~
I look around frantically, trying to make up my mind on which path would be the best to take in order to escape them, to try and conserve whatever energy I had left running from them.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you little criminal." Eris gleened as though he knew what I was debating in my head, a third brother came into view from behind him.
I nodded slowly, looking down in false submission as though surrendering.
"Good gi-" I kick him in his ~goods~ as I make a run for it to the winter court border, once I crossed I'd be safe.
He swore out as the other two start chasing after me and he regains his dignity.
I swerve through the trees, in, out, forewords, around, left. I'm panting frantically, my adrenaline causing my heart to thunder in my chest. I felt like prey, a helpless bunny running away from the big bad wolf.
I let the tears fall down my face and wiped them as they did. If there was one thing I was terrified of it was the high lord of the Autumn court and his sons after all Lucien had told me. I'd even take Ziven over this...
I can hear them on my heels, they begin to shoot their magic at me as fire burns at missed hits nearby. I was wild with terror, fleeing the fire and zigzagging through the trees hoping I'd make it to the court.
My energy holds out as I see the white of the winter court border up ahead of me, the shadow surrounding it from the wards. I hoped I had enough energy left in me to use my magic to quickly work through the wards.
I could hear them on my heels
STOMP, STOMP, STOMP
I could feel their hands grabbing out for me as my running slows, I was in complete distress. Turning around to quickly glance at how near they were when one of them throws themselves on my legs tackling me to the floor.
I flounder in his grip, as the other brother helps to pin me and I'm screaming louder than I ever have, just as Eris approaches and uses his magic to bind and gag me in cuffs that burned slightly and a gag that silenced me with flames that threatened their way down my throat.
"Maybe you shouldn't have exhausted yourself breaking through our wards earlier little criminal" Eris begins "we found your empty bottles of faerie wine scattered along the court and knew it was only a matter of time before you'd be skulking around again." He crooned
I couldn't do anything other than silently cry as they dragged me further away from the winter border, from my escape to the night court.
Autumn would be one hell, but I only knew it would be only a matter of time until Ziven heard of this and-
"You have something of mine Eris." I hear come from behind me, where Eris had been facing.
Ziven. Brilliant.
Cauldron curse me, when I said I'd even take Ziven over this I hadn't meant it. Out of the frying pan into the fire. Or ice I suppose?
"Ziven." Eris replied curtly. "Actually it's Lord Ziven now." He corrected, his voice giving away nothing on whether he was angry. Eris, I could tell, was determined to not give me up. I wasn't sure which was the lesser Evil between the two of them right now.
"Ah yes, I heard about Heolstor and your plan to overthrow him, seemed it worked." Eris replied smugly. "You're not one to talk about plans Eris." Ziven said, a hint of knowing something we didn't in his voice. He must have too for Eris was silenced by this.
"You said she was yours?" Eris finally speaks. "Yes, I'll take her now if you don't mind."
"Of course Lord Ziven." Eris drags me over to him, my wrists and ankles still burning from the fire keeping me bound. I went to scream profanities at them both but the gag in my mouth forbade me from making so much as a squeak. The situation was hopeless.
I had no fight left in me.
I willingly let myself be dragged away by Ziven back to the winter court, back to the manor.
All a part of my plan.
