~45 days since Hybern~

Azriel

"I'm serious Amren, was there anything else in that diary that might indicate who would come after Ziláa." I cried out, exhausted.

The bags under my eyes were becoming near permanent and my wings were almost dragging on the floor, even my shadows looked weary in between their whispers.

We were sat up in the house of wind, at the dining table. She'd come to visit to see how I was doing since I don't show up to the townhouse anymore. Or anywhere else in Velaris really.

"No Az, you know I'd have told you the day she went missing if there was something, have you looked for any more in her room?"

Had I looked in her room.

Her room. Filled with her scent.

Clearly my facial expression gave something away as she said "have you even been in there?"

I stared blankly at her and shook my head. Of course I hadn't, I couldn't face it, if I caught her scent who knows the rampage I might find myself on.

She rolled her eyes and stood up "some spymaster you are!" Sighing as she strode down the corridor towards the closed door near mine.

"A-amren no." My voice broke, but she continued on.

I followed her down, I didn't want to go into the room but I didn't not want to either.

The click of the door opening sounded and my mates smell hit me, sending my shadows amuck and my siphons flaring in turn. Amren's hair flipped around her as she turned to me and raised an eyebrow whilst I tried to compose myself.

Ziláa's room was very much a mirror of herself, slightly messy but put together. Perfect.

Amren began ransacking through her things and I aswell, skipping the drawer of intimates, that was something I wouldn't bear to lay my hands on now save I tear all of Prythian apart.

I found a few dishes she had with a half sun painted in the middle. Surely not a night court sigil?

I called for Amren to come over and look. She had been in the midst of picking apart pages in books for a clue, book still in hand as she came over.

She studied the plate with me, down to the markings on the back. "That's definitely a Dawn court sigil on the front, I'm unsure of this rather peculiar 'O' on the back though,"

"Do you think someone in the Dawn court may have something to do with Ziláa's disappearance?" My shadows chirp up at this new object we still studied. Why had I not come into Ziláa's room sooner? Coward.

"I'm honestly not sure Az, we should ask Rhys if he recognises any of it." She suggested, to which I eagerly nodded and we made our way back to the balcony to head for the townhouse. No time like the present.
