Angrily, Chani is gathering her belongings for her journey north.
Jessica is observing her. She is aware that Chani is upset with her sons.
Jessica: You're heading north with the others?
Chani: I'm Fedaykin. I follow my leaders. If fighting goes north, I go north.
Jessica: Paul and Marcus didn't have a choice, Chani.
Chani: I won't be fighting for them. I'm fighting for my people.
Chani completes her packing. With a determined look in her eyes, she throws her pack over her shoulder and walks towards the door.
Jessica: I came to wish you best of luck.
Chani: I'd wish you the same, but it seems you've won your battle.
Jessica is left alone in the room as Chani rushes out. Jessica feels a mixture of pride and concern for Chani as she walks away. She is aware that Chani will stop at nothing to defend her people because of her unwavering commitment to them.
The Emperor's ship flies into Arrakis' atmosphere. Knowing that their fate is at stake, the inhabitants of Arrakis prepare for the upcoming battle. The people within the spacecraft get more anxious as it lowers, bracing themselves for what is to come.
Outside, the crowd of Fremen watches the Emperor's ship as it approaches Arrakis. With a determined expression, they are prepared to protect their home from any harm.
Gurney: He took the bait.
Through their binoculars, Gurney, Paul, and Marcus observe his spacecraft as it enters Arrakis. Gurney smiles, knowing that everything is going according to plan. Through his binoculars, Paul spots a huge storm in the distance. Although the approaching storm makes their strategy less certain, Paul is still optimistic that they can make it through.
Paul: Oh, the Emperor's very obliging.
Marcus: He's right on time.
Stilgar feels the breeze in the air with his hand. Stilgar gives a nod of satisfaction, understanding that things are coming together to their advantage.
Stilgar: (in Chakobsa) As you foresaw, Muad'Dib. A great-grandmother of a storm. Revan!
Marcus turns to face Stilgar.
Stilgar: (in Chakobsa) We await your orders and instructions, Shabah!
Paul nods at his brother, as does Gurney.
Marcus: (to himself) A great man doesn't seek to lead; he's called to it, and he answers.
Now that the Emperor's ship is passing over Arrakeen, House Harkonnen notices it. As the power dynamics change, there is a noticeable tension in the air.
Baron Harkonnen is inside the Governor's manor, watching the Emperor and his troops arrive. The Baron considers the ramifications of the Emperor's presence on Arrakis, his mind fluttering with possibilities. He is aware that in order to keep control of the desert planet, his own plans will need to change swiftly in response to this new information.
Galen, Rabban, and Feyd-Rautha approach to view it behind him.
Feyd-Rautha: What is he doing here? I brought spice production under control. What do we do?
Baron Harkonenn: Send messages to the Great Houses. Tell them that Arrakis is under Sardaukar attack. Tell them, their future hangs in the balance.
Feyd-Rautha acknowledges the gravity of the issue with a nod. Knowing that the Baron's messengers' next actions will determine whether or not they maintain control over Arrakis, he immediately turns to convey the orders to them.
