Months laterYou and Chaeyoung returned home from the disappointing doctor's appointment, you couldn't shake off the feeling of frustration and sadness.
Despite your efforts, it seemed like starting a family was becoming increasingly difficult.
Just as you were settling into the somber atmosphere at home, a knock sounded at the door.
Surprised, you exchanged glances with Chaeyoung before heading to answer it. To your astonishment, it was Daewon, her bright smile instantly lifting your spirits.
"Hey, Auntie Y/N! Hi, Chaeyoung!" Daewon greeted cheerfully, her enthusiasm contagious.
"Hey, Daewon! What brings you here?" you asked, trying to match her energy despite your own feelings.
"I wanted to visit you two!" Daewon exclaimed, bouncing on her toes. "And I brought something for you."
Curious, you watched as Daewon reached into her backpack and pulled out a handmade card, decorated with colorful drawings and glitter. "I made this for you," she explained proudly, holding it out for you to take.
Touched by her gesture, you accepted the card with a warm smile. "Thank you, Daewon. That's so sweet of you."
Chaeyoung stepped forward, her eyes twinkling as she examined the card. "Wow, this is amazing! You're quite the artist, Daewon."
Daewon beamed at the compliment, her cheeks flushing with pride. "I'm glad you like it!" she exclaimed.
Inviting Daewon inside, you and Chaeyoung spent the afternoon with her, playing games, laughing, and forgetting about your worries for a while.
Daewon sighed once she walked in the house. You and Chaeyoung couldn't help but chuckle at Daewon's animated complaints about school.
Her expressive gestures and exaggerated sighs were both amusing and endearing.
"It seems like you had quite the day at school, Daewon," you remarked, suppressing a smile as you watched her flop onto the couch.
Daewon nodded emphatically, her pouty expression melting into a mischievous grin. "It was sooo boring! I wish I could just stay home and play all day."
Chaeyoung leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I know what you mean, Daewon. Sometimes, even being a grown-up feels like being stuck in school."
Daewon's eyes widened in disbelief. "Really?" she asked, clearly intrigued by the idea of adulthood.
You nodded, sharing a knowing glance with Chaeyoung. "Yep, sometimes we have to do things we don't enjoy, just like you do at school. But it's all part of growing up."
Daewon considered this for a moment before nodding in understanding. "I guess being a grown-up isn't as fun as I thought," she admitted, her tone slightly wistful.
Chaeyoung ruffled Daewon's hair affectionately. "But it has its perks too, like being able to make your own rules and eat ice cream for dinner if you want!"
Daewon's eyes lit up at the mention of ice cream, and she giggled. "Really? Can we have ice cream for dinner tonight?"
You and Chaeyoung exchanged amused glances before nodding in agreement. "Sure, why not?" you said, smiling at Daewon's excitement.
You and Chaeyoung exchanged a glance, silently acknowledging the responsibility that came with caring for the energetic young girl.
"Your parents must be worried about you, Daewon," Chaeyoung said gently, her tone tinged with concern. "We wouldn't want them to be upset if they couldn't find you."
