CHAP 19

Rowan pov

My dad comes to tell us lunch is ready but Natalia is still out cold clinging to me like a bear hug and will not detach even in sleep. My dad is old and wise and seems to know something I don't know about her. After he leaves I try to wake the clingy monkey. I end up trying to wake her because I want food. I say Natalia honey, time to rise and shine, food is ready. SHe rolls off me and snuggles into the covers more. I sigh and attack her with tickles hoping I will not get killed for this. She screams and starts laughing and hitting me. I stop once I know she is awake and will not go back to bed.

I look at her and say my mom made lunch. Let's go have lunch. SHe glares at me and says you woke me up for that. I replied of course u didn't have breakfast so now you need food and so do i so now we are going to go get some food that is delicious because my mom made it. She looks at me with malice and I can tell I'm in for a lovely day till she wakes up all the way. She looks at me and as I get up she is back to clingy. I sigh and pick her up and she latches on and I walk down the stairs to the living room to see my parents. They left the food out knowing I would get her up and were waiting for me to come down to eat. When I enter and they finally notice my mom asks why she has not let go of me yet and shakes my head and sighs not knowing what to think of this. I do not know why I'm just happy she wants to spend time with me even if she is clingy. I set her down in a chair and continue to sit on my own and eat my breakfast/ lunch. I look over to see Natalia digging into the potatoes and into the steak like a wild child but then again I don't know what is up with her. I'm hoping spending some time here will relax. I look to see my dogs running in and heading straight for natalia. She gets up and crouches down to their level giving them both kisses on their foreheads. I look at her this is the time she is not clingy i look to the dogs thinking i now know she doesn't feel safe but being near the dogs helps her feel safe in a new environment but then i remember she is not only dressed in her black and red pant suit that has many pockets for weapons she is a weapon herself.

AS lunch proceeds she seems to get calmer th dogs perch at the side of her chair guarding her like she needs protection and safety when she is a fucking weapon. I look at my parents, noticing they are conversing with Natalia.

J: So what do you do for work?

N

; I run a few companies.

G: what ones ?

N: Guardians protection services , Death books publishing, and the misfits.

J: You run all of those on your own?

N: yes i do and i enjoy doing so it has been hard since my second in command betrayed me and killed some of my workers but it will be alright.

G: He what!!! He killed your workers?

N: yes and he is getting punished for it. I have my people looking for him.

J: What people honey?

N: i run the misfits an underground criminal ring as i said before and i plan to torture him till he dies in hounor of my fallen.

G: why don't you just end him and forget about it?

N: I will not forget about my fallen boss and losing them and having to see their families suffer. He will not just get a simple death.

They look at me like they have seen a ghost for what she said like who the hell are u marrying son look. I sigh and say why don't we discuss a different topic besides death and betrayal. My mother looks at me glaring from stopping her interrogation of my mate. I look back with a g;a care of my own. I look at her and say why don't we talk about how many don't know about her love for animals. You like animals dear she says looking at Natalia. Natalia being nice says yes i love them I have 2 favorite animals. Really what are they? She replies with Horses and wolves. Why horses? Because they are amazing, the grace and the confidence they carry is amazing. My mother looked shocked by Natalia's answer and how she held no shame saying she likes horses and what my mother doesn't know is that I'm getting Natalia a horse for her birthday in 2 weeks and it will be a friesian horse. I know Natalia never got one in fear of people finding out who she was but now I can protect her more than she knows yet she is still so stubborn. I know she needs her independence but she needs to realize that she now has someone in her corner. Natalia looks at my mother and does not hold back her temper. Look I get all you have seen me is at my low but see me now. Stop trying to nitpick before you lose your tongue if you can not accept me then that is ok i can go but just know im taking my mate with me. You cant he is my son and you came here for protection and i'm not trying to i was testing you to see how you could handle the ninnies in the pack. I'm sorry I had to. It is ok just know to do it again and the threat will become real. Natalia after the conversation starts to look restless like she needs some outlet to let her be violent. All of a sudden she says I'm going back to work in a few hours. I shake my head knowing exactly what she is going to do.
