Clock ticking as time passed by. Usually Jordan would have seen it as pressures time, but not to night.

To night he, Noah, Lukas and Iris was sitting in their dimly lit family room in silence.

Except for a few words from little Iris who had no idea of what was happening. All the four year old saw was the gloomy faces of her older brothers. Noah would zone completely out while he stared down a random object in the room. Lukas found it relaxing to just close his eyes from time to time, to not think too much of their current situation.

Jordan had found comfort in his little sister. He had put her on his lap and mindlessly cradled her until she fell asleep.

The doorbell rang efficiently getting the three boys out of their state, waking little Iris in the proses.

"Wanna sleep." The little girl yawned in her big brothers arms. To which Jordan softly shushed her while standing up, keeping the cradling motion.

Noah and Lukas where already at the door when Jordan reached it, they had waited for the oldest to open, not really nowing what would meet them on the other side.

Jordan gave Iris to Noah so he could formally greet the person on the other side. Opening the door all of their hearts sank.

A police officer and a woman dressed in a formal suit stood on their front porch. Sad smiles took over their faces as Jordan opened the door.

"Jordan Swan?" The police officer asked to confirm that this was the right house and family.

Jordan nodded silently telling them to come in by taking a step away from the door. The two took the invite and walked into the house. The police officer taking of his hat holding it too his chest. The woman scanned the sibling, a pitiful look covering her face.

"As you have probably heard the cruise that your parents where onboard collided with an even bigger cruise ship." The police officer fiddled a little with his hat. His eyes resting on the eldest of the four sibling.

Jordan knew what news he was here to bring, so did Lucas and Noah. Iris was fast asleep and didn't understand what was happening.

"We have not found your parents name in any registration of survivors. Neither have we found their bodies. This means that your parents are now registered as missing persons." A little shocked Noah let his tears fall, it wasn't quite the message he expected.

"Does that mean they could still be alive?" A question could be heard between a sob. Lucas had gone straight to the comfort of his oldest brother when the news was delivered.
Tears streamed down the fourteen-year olds face. Jordan kept a hand on his brothers head, keeping him close to his chest. He again found comfort in comforting his siblings. He laid a kiss on Lucas's messy blond curls.

"We can't answer that for sure. All I can tell you is that we're going to do our very best to find out what happened to your parents." The police officer smiled at the boy in his brothers arms.

"What is she doing here?" Noah bluntly asked, motioning for the lady with the pitiful look behind the officer.

"Noah." A warning tone came from Jordan. Noah only shrugged, looking back down at his sister who stirred in her sleep.

The strawberry blond lady cleared her voice. She stretched out a hand for Jordan to shake.

"My name is Jasmine." She smiled "I am so sorry for your loss." She gave a small smile.

"Their not dead yet." Noah barked back at her.

Jordan was taken aback by his brothers rudeness. He let go of the woman's hand.

"Thank you." He acknowledged. "Noah, why don't you go up and put Iris to bed, when you come down again I want you to apologize. I won't have any of you're disrespect on top of everything else. " He calmly said. He knew Noah had always had a temper, he wasn't very good with his emotions, especially the sad ones, it always led up to anger.

He turned back to the woman and apologized for his brothers behavior.

"No problem at all, I know how all this can make someone feel. It's a lot all at once."

Jordan gave a curt nod. He didn't believe that she knew how he felt. Lucas was still glued to his side, his tears making the boy have to fight to hold his eyes open.

Jordan saw that and hoisted him up on his hip. Normally the petit boy would've fought him off, but he was to tired to do that. In all honesty his brothers strong arms where exactly what he needed right now. He put his head on the his older brothers shoulder, his eyelids closing right after.

"I am the kids social worker." Jasmine said while admiring the duo.

Jordan's eyebrows twisted in confusion. "What does that mean?" He asked. He knew he was to old to be put in foster care, but none of his siblings were.

"I am here to ask you if you want to take custody of your three younger siblings." She said. Right to the point.

Jordan's eyebrows relaxed slightly. "So you're not here to take them away?" He asked. He knew he needed to be careful how he worded himself in front of the police officer and the social worker.

"That depends on your answer. If you say no, we have to find an other replacement for them." Jasmine said. Sympathy in her voice. She knew that this was a hard decision for a twenty year old to take.

"We know that you have a stable income, even though you're a college student. We will help so you can finish your degree and become a lawyer. From only being here for ten minutes, I can see how these kids respect you and how they trust you. I don't think any other place would be better for them." Jasmin told him.

Jordan's eyes traveled down to his little brother that was now sleeping in his arms. There was no doubt what he was going to choose.

"I'm sorry for snapping at you." Noah walked down the stairs. He stopped by Jordan's side. He looked at Jasmine who just smiled at him.

"No worries, thank you for your apology." She nodded at him.

Noah grumbled something back but no one knew what it was. The sixteen year old leaned against his older brother. This was a Noah's way of showing that he needed comfort. Jordan was happy to comfort him. He wrapped his free arm around his other brother and kissed the top of his head fondly.

"I'm taking them into my custody."
