16. The False Truth

Third Person POV

Everything in the hall seemed normal no one got suspicious even when the soon to be King was missing for such a long time. As Blake spread the rumor that Gio was planning to give a surprise to his beloved Father and Mother on their anniversary. When they saw Gio enter the room again they were gossiping and were proud to have a Prince like him who cared about his parents this much. Contrary to their imagination, he did plan a surprise but only so he can let the people of his nation know the crimes they have committed not only towards their own family but many towards the people.   

Both the Emperor and the Emperess also heard the news of this, being a Mother Maya was very happy that his son thought so much about his parents. She was beyond happy "I did not expect him to have a surprise prepared for us, I cannot wait to see what it is."  She said while placing her right hand on her husbands and the other was on her left cheek as her eyes were glowing with the happy tears. 

On the other hand, Antonio found it suspicious, his son who changed after that incident has never even once acknowledged him, that son wanted to give him a surprise. He could not digest this newfound information. He looked at his wife's hand which she placed on his. He had married her due to political reasons, but never once did he fell for her. She was just a heir producer for him, he wanted to push her hand aside so badly, it disgusted him. But being in front of so many people made him act like a loving husband.   

He holds her hand and then looks at her with so much love in his eyes, people watching would be so much captivated by their love that they would believe this stupid act of his. He then turns to look and find where his son is. But he is not there, he looks to his right where his trusted guard was standing. He signals him to find Gio and about the surprise. 

Antonio was many things but not a fool to not be cautious enough and fall right into a trap. He knows how much his son loved his older brother, and how he did not even talk to anyone for quite a while. He only started talking when Hazel was born after 2 years. He knows how much Gio loves all his siblings, those who are alive and also the one who isn't. He had planned things for his safety. Even if someday Gio did betray him and gets in his way, he will make sure to eliminate any threat to his life. He is the emperor and by no means will he go down without a fight.  

Vincenzo looks at his father's face changing, and he also saw the signal he gave to his guard.  He knew his brother was planning something big, but what exactly he did not know that. But one thing is very clear, he will always take his brother's side. Maybe something ran in the blood of the brothers to have full faith in their sibling bond. Gio never told the whole story about Dario to anyone except Blake. Vincenzo was only 3 when his eldest brother died in an attack from the enemy pack. What he and Hazel knew was the same story most of the People in the nation knew. 

After killing his own son mercilessly, he spread a lie within the empire. The enemy pack attacked them late in the night killing and raping his soon to be son-in-law. Their King Dario fought them and overpowered them but then they killed him with dirty trick, they injected wolf's bane and then attacked him together. Dario was already weak because of the drug injected to him and could not fight back and then they stabbed him in his neck resulting in his death. And a sad father whose son was murdered in front of him went in rage and killed everyone achieving the injury on his face and winning the war. In the end as Gio was also traumatized and sad because of his brother's early demise. The emperor asked everyone to not bring up the topic of his oldest son and his son-in-law. He even said we will all remember them in our hearts. 

There were some people who wanted to rebel and bring the truth out and they could not follow such an Emperor. They all were killed or gone missing. No one in this whole empire knew the reality, except for the few trusted soldiers on the emperor's side. Everyone caried on with their lives. Except for one, Gio he had made his goal to take revenge for his brother and Enzo. He knew everything but could not voice out the crimes his parents committed. He started preparing evidence of that day and even any other crimes they have committed. He found many and made a perfect plan. 

Vincenzo followed the guard till he reached the place where his brother was talking to someone. He could not hear a thing, but the guard was shocked to see the person with his brother. He went behind the guard and knocked him down. Gio saw some movement as he came rushing also while protecting the other guy. Vincenzo looked at his brother with narrowed eyes. Is his brother cheating his mate? What is he doing in a secluded place like this? Once Gio saw him he was a little relieved and when he saw the guard laying there, he was shocked, he was discovered right before the event. It cannot be good.

"What happened?" Gio asked his brother. "This guy was following you and was about to report your surprise to father. I just stopped him." Vincenzo said casually. "But what are you doing here and who is he?" Gio sighs, he knows it would have been a big disaster if Vincenzo didn't have arrived on time, but he does not have time to explain everything right now. 

"I cannot explain everything, but you will know soon. I will request you to please keep this person safe until I the surprise event. Make sure no one knows of his presence. I know without telling you anything asking you so much to do is not right but trust me please." Gio spoke as he patted his younger brother on his shoulder. Vincenzo being the one who will even burn the world if his brother says so accepts his request and reassures Gio that no one will find out about this person.

In the hall Levi and Hazel were chatting to other and enjoying each other's company. Hazel being herself was flirting with other alphas. She even hugged an alpha just to make someone jealous. Levi now at least knew why she did all these stupid flirting. An alpha from her school is someone she likes, not only that but he also confessed to her, but then he refused to date her, saying they have different status, and he is not worthy enough for her. While she told this she was so angry and was glaring at one of the knights who was standing near the main door. She told him that he is in her most of the classes and she even believes that they can be mates, as she feels a pull towards him. But the stupid thing refuses saying, the moon goddess will never pair us because I deserve someone better or some shit like that. 

And due to this reason, she always flirts and wears cloths like this to make him jealous. Both of them had a drink in their hands and were standing at a corner. "I know I look stupid to most of them, and many think I am a slut, sleeping around and all. But the truth is I have only kissed once and that too only with him, it was the most beautiful and precious moment of my life. I am still a virgin and I do not want to lose it to someone else, if it's not him then no one." Levi found the whole thing so romantic. Him being a nerd and a sucker for romance made him want to help his new friend to have a happy love story. 

Levi patted her back gently "I think you should stop this." Hazel looks at him with confused eyes and the look which shouted, 'did I not tell you why I am doing this.' 

"Look I understand your feeling or maybe not. But the thing is its only spoiling your image and, in the process, hurting him. So better than that, there is something else we can do." Levi said with a smirk on his pretty little face. "And what is that exactly can you tell me." 

"Of course, but not now, after the celebration meet at Ava's place and there, we will discuss this." She nods thinking that if this could make that stupid piece of shit understand her feelings then so be it. Levi clicked their glasses together "Cheers to you and Mr. Knight."  Her eyes became wide as she did not mention in the whole story the person is also a Palace Knight. 

"Ho... how did you know?" Hazels asked dumbfounded. Levi giggles and says, "Throughout the story you were only looking at him, at first I thought maybe just a coincidence but when he looked at you it was then I realized he is the one you are talking about." Hazels looks at him with an open mouth and then sighs. "You are too sharp, no one has ever found out." As they both look at each other and start laughing.
